Chapter 923:
“Of course, sir.”
Once Kellan and Allison made sure no one was outside, they stepped into the room.
“Lilian, it’s good to see you again.”
Allison stared at the woman lying on the bed. She didn’t appear as frantic as before, but there was still a cautious look in her eyes.
“Are you from Immortality Pharmaceuticals?”
Allison and Kellan shared a quick look. Allison spoke softly. “Don’t worry. I’m the one who got you out of Immortality Pharmaceuticals.”
Lilian frowned and studied Allison closely. After a moment, it seemed like she remembered something.
“It’s… it’s you.”
“I’m not sure how much you remember, but it was me who got you out of that lab.” Allison spoke calmly and clearly. “I didn’t just inject you with the serum; I also helped you escape.”
Lilian seemed to recall those events, and her suspicion toward Allison eased a little.
“Why did you save me?”

She wasn’t naive. She understood that nothing came without a price.
Allison felt a sense of relief when she saw Lilian willing to talk. She pulled out a bloodstained earring from her pocket. “Do you remember who you took this from?”
Lilian stared at the earring for a long moment. Suddenly, her heart began to race. The bloodstains on it seemed to stir up dark memories.
“What earring is that? I can’t see it well. Come closer.”
If it had been just any regular earring, Allison would have tossed it over. But this was the last clue to finding her mother. So, Allison stepped closer, placing the earring right in front of Lilian. “Take a good look.”
Lilian stared at the earring, her breath growing more shallow. Her mind flashed to the image of a woman in a white lab coat, who had almost snapped her neck. For a moment, that woman looked just like Allison.
Lilian’s thoughts were starting to unravel.
“Don’t… don’t come any closer!”
As she spoke, Lilian pulled a syringe from under her pillow.
Without a second thought, she aimed it at Allison’s arm. “Go to hell, you evil woman! I knew you were one of the researchers!”
In that split second, Kellan stepped in front of Allison. “Allison, watch out!”
Everything happened so quickly.
The syringe jabbed into the back of Kellan’s hand.
Luckily, the needle wasn’t long and didn’t go in too deep. He quickly shoved Lilian to the floor and used zip ties to restrain her.
