Chapter 445:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Noticing that Julio had yet to light his cigarette, Eileen approached him, her curiosity piqued. “What kind of property are you referring to? Do you have a preferred location in mind? What’s the purpose of this property? A marital home? Should we ask Ms. Harrison for her opinion?”
Eileen’s mind started to piece things together. If it were a marital home, it shouldn’t be in either her or Benjamin’s name.
And then it clicked. “Is this for Dalores?”
“Yes.”
Julio added, “It should be conveniently located near a hospital, in a pleasant environment for her pregnancy. Arrange for a couple of caregivers as well.”
Eileen paused, the realization slowly dawning on her that Dalores had chosen to keep the child.
“Have you consulted with Ms. Harrison?”
Julio drummed his fingers on the table. “She struggles to come to terms with it, but the Harrison family is on board, provided the child is publicly acknowledged as Mabel’s.”
Given Mabel’s health concerns, this arrangement was a measure to secure an heir for the Freguson family.
This approach would create a win-win situation for Julio, ensuring he has a child while addressing the family’s needs—except for the sacrifice required from Dalores.
“Julio, you are heartless,” Eileen said, her voice unexpectedly filled with emotion. “This will devastate Dalores’ life.”

Could she ever move on after bringing a child into the world under such circumstances? Could she start over, despite the shadow cast by her current situation? What would her future husband think if he discovered that she had a child?
Eileen was troubled by all of these possibilities.
“She told me that meeting her was like opening a new chapter, but sleeping with me had already destroyed her life. Whether she has this child or not, her life is irreparably changed because of me. She might as well assist me in this situation,” Julio said in a somber tone.
Eileen asked, “Do you love her?”
Sunlight streamed generously into the office, casting a warm glow over Julio.
He fixed a serious gaze on Eileen, so intense that she feared he might leave her question unanswered. But then, to her surprise, his expression softened into a faint smile, and he simply said, “I do.”
And that was all.
Eileen knew better than to press the matter further; any more questions would only add salt to an open wound.
