Chapter 592:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Their bodies moved in sync, their love expressed in whispers and gasps, every moment more intoxicating than the last. The room filled with the sounds of their pleasure, of two souls coming together as one.
And when they finally collapsed against each other, spent and breathless, their fingers lazily traced each other’s skin, the world outside forgotten.
Tessa was still catching her breath when Gendry suddenly blurted out, “Marry me, Tessa.”
Tessa’s eyes flew open in shock.
“Marry me, Tessa.”
Tessa stared at him, her lips parting as she tried to process what he’d just said. Her voice came out in a breathless whisper. “What?”
Gendry didn’t hesitate. He looked straight into her eyes, his expression open and sure. “Marry me, Tessa.”

She felt like her heart had stopped. Her mind raced, but no coherent thoughts came. “You—” She swallowed, utterly flustered.
Gendry chuckled at her shock, rolling onto his side so that he was partially on top of her. His fingers traced lazy circles on her arm, his touch soothing.
“Hear me out,” he murmured. “I know it sounds crazy. Maybe it is. But I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.”
Tessa’s breath hitched, her pulse drumming in her ears.
“We just made things official, like, yesterday,” he admitted, his lips curving into a small, sheepish smile. “But it doesn’t feel new, does it? It feels like I’ve known you forever. We’ve been through so much. Hell, we were even against each other at some point. And yet, here we are.” His voice softened. “In love. Stronger than ever.”
Tessa’s chest grew tight, because everything he was saying — every single word — was exactly how she felt.
How could they have started off the way they did, with so much unresolved anger and tension, only to reach this point? A place where she couldn’t imagine life without him?
Her eyes stung as she croaked, “So you really want to marry me?”
Gendry exhaled sharply, his thumb brushing over her cheek. “Yes. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. What did you think I meant when I texted you this morning that I want to wake up beside you every day forever?” He let out a short laugh. “I meant it, Tessa. I want you to be mine forever.”
Tessa bit her lip, her emotions swelling inside her, overflowing.
Gendry studied her face, searching her expression. “Please tell me I’m not crazy,” he asked quietly.
She gazed into his eyes, love welling up inside her.
“No, you are,” she whispered, voice thick with emotion. “You’re out of your mind.”
Gendry’s face fell slightly, but before he could react, she reached up, cradling his face in her hands. “But I must be just as crazy,” she murmured, blinking away tears.
He stilled. His entire body seemed to tense. “Tess.” His voice was almost hesitant. “Are you saying—”
She nodded, tears slipping down her cheeks as she let out a watery laugh. “Yes.”
Gendry sucked in a sharp breath. “You’ll marry me?”
She nodded again, firmer this time. “Yes, Gendry.”
