Chapter 346:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Hayden’s flirtatiousness was really helpful. His voice was appealing and he even blinked as he spoke.
“You make the hard choice for me.” Joseph felt his body tense. The flame of passion surged in his eyes, and even his throat became hoarse, “What did you call me? Say it again.”
“First promise me you’re going back to your place to stay there for a few days.”
“Okay.” Joseph quickly agreed.
He knew what she was trying to do. But to hear her tell him like that again, Joseph opted to give in.
He thought that was enough, but in reality Hayden needed more.
“I want some ice cream.”
“Now?”
“Yes, my dear husband, please buy it for me.” Hayden blinked again.
Joseph couldn’t stand this. All he wanted was to subdue this flirtatious fairy.
“Buy me ice cream. In the meantime I’ll take a bath and wait for you to come back.”
The scene of Hayden’s attractive body after a bath came to Joseph’s mind.
He said nothing, but turned and headed for the door. “Wait for me.”
Hayden smiled as she looked at Joseph’s back. After Joseph left, she changed the password on the door, then texted him and turned off her phone.
My dear husband, you can’t come back tonight, she thought.
She had to pack tonight, because she had decided to go to Lanxi City the next morning. Getting rid of Joseph was her first task.
Just as Joseph was leaving the building, he had received the message.
“[Dear husband, we must be separated before the wedding. I have changed the password in case you change your mind. Please come back to your home. I love you, my dear husband].”
The icy wind spurred Joseph on. His burning desire had been quenched by the message.
He began to realize that it would be no good every time Hayden called him husband. Each time, however, he had been trapped by his obvious plans.
Joseph sighed into the icy wind and headed for the parking lot.
He had to listen to his dear wife.

Hayden drove to Lanxi City the next morning. When he arrived at the inn, he saw the receptionist, Lily, pulling out a bag of broken glasses.
Hayden stepped forward. Lily found her and hurried over.
“Hello, you’re Miss Downey, right?”.
Hayden nodded and asked, “Why are there so many broken glasses, did something happen?”.
At the mention of this, Lily’s face turned grim, “Everything’s smashed inside.”
Hayden was confused. “What happened?”
Lily ushered her inside and Hayden checked that there was no glass in the door or window. The inn was also in chaos inside. The busy public area was empty.
“Three days ago, bandits came here and trashed the inn. They also took Benjamin away.”
“What?” Hayden’s face changed, “Did you call the police?”
“No.” Lily shook her head and explained quietly, “Our boss wouldn’t let us call the police. She asked me to take a vacation after cleaning up the mess, but I’m worried. Did Benjamin offend some powerful forces? They even trashed the inn, I think they must have something against Benjamin.”
“Where is your boss?” Hayden looked at the stairs, “Is she on the second floor?”.
“Yes.”
“Good, I’ll go see her.” Hayden then went upstairs to find Rebekah.
Rebekah even refused to call the police when her son was taken. There must be something behind all this.
Rebekah was cleaning her room, she was putting all her jewelry on the desk. She was wearing a simple dress and her eyes were full of tears. She was stunned to see Hayden and then hurried to wipe her tears away.
“Why did you come all the way out here?”
“What happened?” Hayden cut to the chase, “Who took Benjamin?”
Rebekah frowned and replied in a husky voice, “Don’t ask, it has nothing to do with you. You’re going home with Joseph, aren’t you? Come back soon.”
“You are Joseph’s mother, and Benjamin is Joseph’s brother, do you think I can come back now after knowing this?”.
Rebekah was good-natured, but sometimes stubborn. She kept silent after Hayden said that, as if she wanted to force Hayden to leave with that method.
“Mrs. Beckham.” Hayden calmed down and tried to persuade Rebekah, “I’m not asking you for anything, but you should tell me what I can do. I will do everything I can to help Benjamin, soon he will be my brother too.”
Rebekah finally raised her head, and couldn’t help but sob as she looked at Hayden.
After a long moment, she spoke, “Can you lend me some money? You can take the inn as collateral. I’ll pay you all back in the future, but right now I really need money.”
Hearing this, Hayden breathed a sigh of relief: “Fortunately, money can cope with problems, don’t worry. How much do you need? I’ll get the money.”
Rebekah gritted her teeth. It was hard for her to speak.
Soon she said through gritted teeth, “He asked me for twenty million dollars, but I only have one million. And it’s too late to sell the inn.”
It was a big figure for Hayden, too. He frowned and pinched his palm with his fingernails, to force himself not to say more.
Then he nodded, “Okay, I’ll get the money. Don’t worry.”
Hayden didn’t have enough money, but Joseph did. She believed Joseph would help Benjamin at a critical time.
She knew Rebekah didn’t want to get involved with Joseph, so she turned around and went downstairs to call Joseph.
“Joseph, I have something to talk to you about, are you unoccupied?”.
“Well, tell me.”
“Do you have twenty million dollars now?”.
Joseph was stunned and then said, “I do.”
Hayden was relieved. “I’m going to tell you the truth. I’m at your mother and Benjamin’s inn in Lanxi City. They’re in trouble now, so I need the money to help them, can you help me?”.
There was silence for a while, and then I ask, “So you kicked me out last night to go there, huh?”
“Well, that’s not important. Help me first, will you?”
After a long pause, Joseph replied in a cold voice, “Magnus will come looking for you again tonight. Stay out of his problems, it’s none of our business.”
