Chapter 352:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“One of the two numbers you gave me is a virtual number, which will change location every five minutes. I need time to track it down. And I’ve sent you the location of the other number.” Edison said into the phone.
“Okay, hold on. Let me check.” Hayden rushed to check his phone.
The location showed a hotel in S City.
Hayden walked out of the S City airport, and hailed a cab there.
“TC Hotel, please.” The driver started the car. Hayden put the phone to his ear again, “Hello? Edison, I’m in the car.”
“Well, let me know when you get there. I’m asking them to trace the virtual number, I can have the result before tonight.”
“Okay.”
Just as Hayden wanted to get off the phone, Edison spoke to him.
“Hayden, it’s a Joseph-related matter, isn’t it?”.
“Yes, it’s dangerous this time.”
“Where is he, why does he always put you in danger?”.
“It’s a long story, I can’t explain it to you now. I’ll tell it to you after I take care of the problems.”
Edison was silent then and hung up the phone after a few seconds, he seemed to have become angry.
Hayden was speechless too, but he didn’t have time to dwell on this.
Edison was like a big brother to her. He always took care of her, and she also got used to his kindness. A big brother would definitely never get mad at his little sister, so Hayden sent one more message to urge him.
“[Quickly! I need the location of the virtual number].”
However, she would never know how depressed Edison was now.
How was it possible that the cute little girl she had spoiled for years was turning into the fussy mom after being with Joseph? Edison definitely had reason to be depressed.
The hotel was remote, but close to the airport, so Hayden arrived quickly.
When Rebekah opened the door for Hayden, he looked terrible. The fright on her face turned to confusion as she saw Hayden there.

“Why did you come all the way out here?”
“I’m afraid you’ll get hurt. Don’t throw me out, I can help you.” Hayden walked into the room and asked, “What happened in the morning, why did you suddenly leave before I woke up?”
Rebekah was excited to see Hayden here, this girl even made such a long trip to follow her. She couldn’t keep anything from Hayden.
“Ted called me and asked me to give the money being alone. I’m afraid of anything dangerous, so I don’t want to let anyone take any risk.”
“Then why are you coming here alone if you know it’s dangerous?”. Hayden discovered that her future mother-in-law was really naive, “Please, if he has made an evil plan, both Benjamin and you won’t be able to come back.”
“I am prepared. Anyway, I can’t involve others.”
“I am not others.” Hayden took a deep breath. Saying something so embarrassing took some courage, “I’m your daughter-in-law. Do you want to deny me?”
Rebekah was taken aback. She looked at Hayden with surprise and then said bitterly. “No, I’m not going to refuse you.”
“So be it.” Hayden smiled, “Don’t worry, I have a plan.”
“What’s your plan?”
“Never mind. Let me follow you tomorrow, I’m good at fighting too. I can buy some time, and I can run fast.”
Rebekah wanted to refuse, but seeing Hayden’s confident expression, she was speechless.
The night passed quickly.
The time they had agreed upon was two o’clock noon, but Ted changed it to three. Every time Hayden and Rebekah arrived at a new place, they got a call and he asked them to go somewhere else; they kept moving until it was seven o’clock at night.
The day got dark at seven in the evening.
Ted’s voice was as mischievous as a snake: “Get out of town and go fifty kilometers north, there is a disused factory by the river. I’ll wait for you there. By the way, you won’t see your son again if you call the police.”
“Don’t touch him.” Rebekah gritted her teeth: “I’ve prepared the money well. I’ll ruin the money if you dare hurt him.”
“Hey, stop talking nonsense, come quickly. I’ll cut off all his fingers if you’re late, don’t you want to be a policeman? Let’s see which police station is willing to recruit your disabled son.”
These terrifying words frightened Rebekah. Hayden watched as Rebekah’s face grew paler and paler. Now she was so mortified that even her lips were pale as a dead man’s.
Ted’s tricks served to check if the police had been called. The police couldn’t make so many preparations in so many places without being noticed, and they couldn’t hide their tracks after moving so many times.
On the way north, Hayden drove the car. He tried to distract Rebekah by talking.
“You said Ted has a rich wife, why is he doing this?”. At this talk, Rebekah’s face turned grim.
“He was born to hurt others. He got divorced because he owed too much money when he gambled. He can never get out of that habit; no matter how many rich women he can find, he will always be short of money.”
“…”.
On the second floor of the disused factory, in the gloom, two guards were stomping on the floor. They felt cold and would feel colder if they stopped walking.
“It’s freezing, damn it! It may snow soon, why does Mr. Bay pick such a freezing day? I’m going to die from the fucking freezing weather.”
“Choose? It’s almost New Year’s. Mr. Bay has to pay his debt before the new year. Otherwise, the lady won’t let him off easy.”
“Shh!” The other man hurriedly covered his mouth and said quietly, “Are you crazy? Don’t talk so loud. Mr. Bay will kill you if he hears you.”
“All right, all right. Let go of me.”
The chattering man shook off his companion’s hand and spat on the floor.
“You want to choke me? The gentleman is on the phone with the lady. He must be fawning over her and doesn’t have time to listen to our conversation.”
Speaking of Ted fawning over his young lady, the two men flashed wry smiles at each other.
They were reluctant to follow a useless worm, but they had to listen to their young lady. Ted was now the son-in-law of the head of a crime family.
It was cold and windy on the rooftop, Ted was also shivering from the frigid wind, but he was still smiling when he spoke on the phone.
“Darling, I haven’t played outside. I’ll be back soon, I got all the money back. It’s ten million dollars.”
