Chapter 1239:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Boss, our scout just came back. The Dark Hills called together every other gang leader in town,” he said, breathless.
The update felt like a chokehold tightening around the Axe Gang leader and his crew.
“They’ve already made their move. So what now? Are you planning to wait around for the end?” The masked man tilted his head, amusement flirting beneath his tone.
At last, the Axe Gang leader dropped the tough act.
“You win. You’re right. If the Dark Hills manages to pull the other gangs into this, we won’t survive the hit. Do you have a way to turn this around?” Left without options, he had to ask the masked man for help.
He figured the masked man showed up with this warning because there was still a sliver of goodwill behind the visit. If destruction was the goal, staying silent would have done the trick.
The masked man had been waiting for that surrender.

“Glad you’ve come to your senses. I’ll lend you a hand—just this once.”
“Is that even possible?”
Shock spread across the Axe Gang leader and his crew.
“How could you possibly expect us to fend off a full-scale assault from multiple gangs?”
To them, it sounded like a fantasy.
Not even at their peak had the Axe Gang pulled off something so bold.
“You don’t have the strength to fight them head-on. That much is true. But my idea of helping doesn’t involve brute force,” the masked man said, his tone calm and assured.
Confusion clouded their faces.
“If they’re coming to crush us, what else can we do aside from fighting back?”
“There’s another option,” the masked man replied without hesitation.
“And what would that be?”
“It’s simple: lay down your pride. Offer your loyalty to the Dark Hills. From this day forward, serve them and hand over everything you have.”
The Axe Gang, hoping for a lifeline, looked ready to collapse from disbelief.
“You can’t be serious. Surrender? That’s suicide. After everything between us and the Dark Hills, do you honestly think they’d let us live?”
The masked man scoffed, shaking his head.
“You’re all blind. Completely blind.”
“Has it never crossed your minds why so many gangs suddenly backed the Dark Hills?”
“Because they took over more than a dozen of our territories, and now their power is stronger than any of our gangs,” the gang leader replied, sounding bitter.
