Chapter 1685:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Her master—the person she admired above all—was gone, and she had never known.
“So that’s why Coulson never told me where she went. He didn’t know, either!” Yelena’s grief twisted into rage. “That coward! She saved him, she taught him, and he paid her back by sending her straight into danger!”
Coulson had stolen the technology from Malayah, tormented her endlessly, and, in the end, her death was on his hands.
She would never forgive him.
“That bastard Coulson! Let’s hunt him down and make him answer for this!” Brody’s voice shook, his eyes burning with anger.
He hated Coulson with every fiber of his being. The man he once respected turned out to be their worst enemy, the one who caused their master’s death.
For Brody, Malayah was more than a mentor—she was a mother. She had taken him in when he had no one.
Brody had wept for days after learning the truth. Even now, the pain cut just as deep.
“No need to search. I’m right here.” Before anyone could move, a cold voice rang out. Everyone froze as Coulson stepped out of the shadows.
With a wave, Coulson signaled, and a group of armed men appeared, quickly closing in around Yelena and the others.
“Yelena, did you really think you and Alina could put one over on me?” Coulson sneered. “I pretended not to notice on purpose so I could catch them all at once.” He paused, then let loose a revelation that made everyone’s blood run cold. “You’re carrying my child, after all. There’s no way I’d ever hurt you.”
Shock widened Cayson’s eyes, his voice spiking with disbelief. “What did you say?”
His gaze darted to Yelena’s midsection, searching for a telltale curve.
Was that a slight swell beneath her shirt, or merely a trick of his anxious mind? Yelena had vanished for months—two, maybe three—and the absence gnawed at him.
She was his sister, he reminded himself, shoving down the whirlwind of doubt. He had to trust her, had to believe she would tell him the truth.

Yelena, unfazed by the weight of curious stares, squared her shoulders and locked eyes with Austin. “I am pregnant,” she declared, her tone steady as stone. “And the child is yours.”
Austin’s expression softened, his eyes holding hers without a flicker of doubt. “I believe you,” he said, his voice a quiet anchor in the tense room.
A sharp laugh shattered the moment. Coulson leaned back, his grin smug and gleaming with malice.
“Oh, I nearly forgot to drop a little bombshell,” he said, savoring the words. “Austin, you and I? We are brothers.”
Brothers?
Austin’s brows knitted, suspicion flashing across his face like a storm cloud.
What game was Coulson playing now?
