Not wanting to frighten Lexi any further with the harsh reality, Sonia took a deep breath and forced a reassuring smile.

Then she hurriedly sent a message to Brandon.

He didn’t reply, but within half an hour his bodyguards had surrounded the private hospital.

Just then, the doctor wheeled Janet out of the examination room.

“Brandon?” Janet was surprised to find Brandon waiting outside. “I’m here,” Brandon replied as he walked over to her. He asked about her test results.

She glanced at Sonia and Lexi standing nearby, sensing that something important must have happened to bring Brandon here unexpectedly. “Aren’t you supposed to be at the company for a meeting?” Janet asked, her brow furrowed in concern. “Why have you come here so suddenly? Is something wrong?”

“No, I finished work early so I decided to come and see you.

Having spoken, Brandon pushed Janet’s wheelchair back to her ward.

Once on the ward, Brandon called for a nurse to give him a detailed update on Janet’s and the baby’s health. He diligently took notes, making sure he got all the important information.
