Chapter 2134:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Even though Janet had figured out the identity of her aunt’s daughter, she was still stunned. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she was at a loss for words.
After a moment of silence, she finally managed to speak. “This is unbelievable! Sonia and I do share a resemblance, but who would have thought she’s Aunt Mona’s long-lost daughter?” Janet could hardly believe that, in a world of billions, Mona’s long-lost daughter was right next to her.
As the thought sank in, beads of sweat formed on her forehead.
“I was just as surprised,” Brandon said, his expression serious. “I had my men conduct a paternity test on Sonia and Mona. The first test was tampered with, but the second one confirmed Sonia’s identity beyond any doubt.”
Just as Janet was marveling at the strange twist of fate, his words caught her attention, making her more alert.
“Have you really uncovered Sonia’s past? Was she intentionally placed near us?” she asked, her hands instinctively protecting her swollen belly, unable to hide the worry in her eyes.
Brandon remained silent for a moment before nodding and replying, “Yes.”
Given the circumstances, it was best to lay everything on the table.
When Janet discovered that Sonia was a spy, she covered her mouth in astonishment.
The revelation that Mona’s long-lost daughter was actually her own bodyguard, Sonia, and that Sonia had been sent by someone with harmful intentions, was shocking.
Yet, if Sonia was truly a spy, why did she consistently risk her life to protect her in moments of peril?

As Janet thought about this, her head bowed in contemplation. Brandon, noting the look on her face, could easily guess what was going through her mind.
He squeezed Janet’s hand reassuringly. “Don’t worry. You can trust Sonia.”
“How can you be so sure?” Janet asked, looking at Brandon with a mix of confusion and suspicion.
It struck her as odd that this was the second time Brandon had spoken up for Sonia.
“Sonia was indeed sent by Alexandra to keep an eye on you, but he didn’t know that Sonia is Mona’s daughter. Sonia eventually realized Alexandra’s true intentions, and I Brandon managed to sway her to our side. Given her connection to Mona, we can be certain that Sonia is on our side.
Brandon explained in detail, and Janet carefully considered his words.
After a long pause, she finally nodded and said, “Alright, I trust that you believe in Sonia.”
“That’s good to hear,” Brandon sighed, visibly relaxing. He had been concerned that Janet’s emotions might spiral, but thankfully, things remained under control.
“Is there anything else you’re not telling me? For example, any changes in the situation?” Janet asked seriously. “If there’s something I should know, you have to tell me. I don’t want to be the fool who knows nothing.”
Amused by this, Brandon chuckled and leaned in to kiss her. “You’re too smart for anyone to think you’re a fool.”
“You take me for a fool,” Janet said, pretending to be angry as she pushed Brandon away.
Brandon smiled and pulled her back into his embrace. “Actually, there’s something else I haven’t mentioned.”
He then quickly explained how he was targeting Alexandra and how Alexandra had lost his mind and come to Barnes in person, ready for a direct confrontation.
Janet’s grip on his hand tightened, and she asked worriedly, “Why are you suddenly going after Alexandra? Is it dangerous?”
