Chapter 778:

An associate approached from behind, saying, “The Moss family representatives have made their way to Terriland, Mr. Ward.”
With a nod, Caden acknowledged the update. Inside the hotel for the entire day, Alicia avoided any contact with the guests. The hotel buzzed with rumors that Caden had gone to Terriland to save Yolanda, prompting Ciara to step in and silence the chatter.
Alone next to a vast window, Alicia sat there, her gaze fixed on the neon dazzle outside. She pondered whether she was waiting for Caden or for her own resolve to fade.
When a vibrant purple firework painted the sky, a spark of desire lit up in her eyes. Caden had always gone to great lengths to arrange surprises, each one a testament to his thoughtful and lavish ways.
Regardless of how tough it was to get something, he always put in a tremendous effort to make it happen, all for her happiness. Alicia smiled softly as she remembered the moments when they first fell in love, and her eyes began to glisten with tears.
As the fireworks painted the sky, a sharp abdominal pain brought her abruptly back to her reality. Having not eaten all day, overwhelmed by her emotions, she struggled to identify the source of the pain. All she could sense was an overwhelming discomfort throughout her body.
Alicia gripped her abdomen tightly as she prepared herself to head to the hospital. Opening the door to leave, she was startled to find Corey standing among the security details. With a casual hand in his pocket, Corey greeted her with a smile.

“Ms. Bennett, congratulations on your engagement.” Sarcasm saturated his every word.
One of the security staff briefed her, saying, “He’s been here a while, and given his position, we couldn’t simply send him away.”
Alicia, preferring not to engage with Corey, responded curtly, “If there’s nothing else, Mr. Hampton, I’ll have a car arranged for your departure.”
Corey responded meaningfully, “No need for a driver for me. I can handle myself. However, with Caden absent, perhaps I could drive you home instead?”
The bodyguards quickly formed a protective circle around Alicia, eyeing Corey with suspicion. Alicia dismissed him and moved on. Corey matched her pace, seemingly oblivious to the guards, conversing as if they were longtime acquaintances.
“Caden’s missing on such a crucial day.
“You surely don’t plan to stick with him, do you?”
Alicia replied coldly, “That’s none of your concern.”
“But how can it not be?” Corey chuckled.
“I’m just biding my time until you turn to me. I appreciate true talent and treat women with respect. Choose me, and I promise to outdo Caden by far.”
As Alicia entered the elevator, Corey halted, not pursuing further, but waved goodbye and said, “Caden will likely return with Yolanda soon. I’d love to hear from you before that, Ms. Bennett.”
The elevator doors slid shut, and Alicia slumped against the wall, her strength fading. A guard, noticing her distress, offered support.
“Ms. Bennett, are you okay?”
