Chapter 780:

“Two months,” Alicia replied softly.
Monica pouted in mock offense.
“And you didn’t tell me? I’m your best friend!”
Alicia sighed.
“I wasn’t sure it would last. Only Caden knew.”
Monica, still fuming over Caden, went into another rant. Gerry suddenly connected the dots.
“No wonder Caden bought all that pink stuff recently — socks, clothes… I thought he was getting a dog, but it’s for your daughter! He kept that one quiet.”
Outside, horns blared as a line of cars darted through the gridlocked traffic.
“That looks like the Moss family’s car,” Gerry muttered.
“Where are they all rushing to?”

Monica rolled her eyes.
“Probably picking up Yolanda.”
Yolanda had finally been rescued. Now, her family was rushing to bring her home. Dorian was ready to tear Caden and Alicia apart if it meant keeping his daughter happy.
The traffic began moving, and Gerry picked up speed, his concern showing.
“I’ll take a shortcut. If anything happens to the baby, Caden will kill me when he gets back.”
As he spoke, he turned left, checking the road but staying focused on Alicia. The light ahead was still red, and Gerry, assuming it was safe, didn’t check his surroundings. Suddenly, a car barreled through the intersection like a bullet, slamming into them with brutal force.
It happened too quickly; Gerry barely had a second to react before the violent impact sent their car—and everyone inside—spinning out of control. The car rolled over.
Alicia’s vision went black. Pain tore through her as her body was thrown violently. She tried to focus through the searing agony. Everything hurt. Every part of her body was in agony as she landed on the ground, blood trickling down her face. She reached up to wipe it away, blinking as her vision returned blurry and dark.
Gerry was slumped over in the driver’s seat, unconscious. Monica was nowhere in sight.
Dizzy and shaking, Alicia forced herself to crawl out of the wreckage. Each movement sent another sharp pain through her abdomen. She looked down.
A trail of red stained the snowy ground beneath her. Alicia froze, horrified. Trembling, she lifted her dress to find her legs drenched in blood. Warm, fresh blood kept seeping.
Her baby…
Her heart twisted with fear and sorrow as she clutched her stomach, gasping through her sobs.
