Chapter 1162:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Without sparing him a single glance, she said coldly, “So you finally came to check whether I’m dead yet? You’re not welcome here, so leave. Now.”
Ignoring the hostility in her voice, Eaton crossed the room and sat down at the edge of the bed. “How much longer are you planning to keep this stunt going? Do you honestly think starving yourself will make me let you leave? Or make me give up? There’s no turning back anymore.”
A trace of weary helplessness lingered beneath his deep voice.
No matter what happened, he could never truly bring himself to be ruthless toward his only sister.
Jessie abruptly pushed herself upright, her tear-reddened eyes blazing with fury as she glared at him. “You’re going this far just for a criminal? Eaton, if you’ve got the nerve, then kill me already or lock me up here for the rest of my life. But the second I get out, I’ll go straight to the police and report everything you’ve done.”
“You’ve completely lost your senses.” After saying that, Eaton gave a cold shake of his head before turning to the bodyguard behind him. “If she refuses to eat, put her on IV nutrition. And listen carefully — under no circumstances is she allowed to leave this place.”
The bedroom door slammed shut with a deafening crash.
Jessie stared at the closed door for a long moment before slowly extracting a crude, makeshift phone from beneath the blankets.

After three days of meticulous, painstaking work, she’d finally pieced it together.
The cobbled-together device couldn’t place targeted calls — it could only dial random numbers and pray someone picked up.
A busy signal droned through the receiver, but Jessie refused to give up and kept dialing.
Meanwhile, Eaton slid into his car and yanked his tie loose with an irritated jerk.
His phone buzzed insistently in his pocket.
He checked the caller ID. His frown turned into a thin, cold smile. “Dad, what can I do for you?”
“Come home. Immediately.”
Before Eaton could get a word out, the line went dead.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Eaton reversed direction and aimed the car toward his parents’ place.
When he arrived, he pushed through the front door and found both parents perched rigidly on the sofa. “Dad, Mom — what was so urgent it couldn’t wait?”
Rudolf lifted his gaze, his expression carved from stone. “It’s been days, Eaton. When are you going to let us see Jessie? We haven’t laid eyes on her once since this so-called accident.”
“Her mental state is fragile right now. Seeing her in this condition will only upset you both. Once she’s stabilized, I’ll arrange a visit.”
“We’re done accepting your excuses.” Marley’s eyes shimmered with unshed tears and mounting worry. “I don’t care what state she’s in — she’s my daughter. If she’s traumatized and struggling, she needs her family more than ever. You’re telling us where she is. Today.”
Both parents presented a united, immovable front, and Eaton’s brow furrowed with annoyance.
“If you refuse to cooperate, we’re calling the police and filing a missing person report.” Rudolf’s voice hardened with resolve.
