Chapter 1165:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
At the consultation room, an oppressive, reverent silence filled the small space.
Gracie fixed the elderly fortune teller with an icy stare, her expression harder than he’d ever seen it.
“The last time I came here to consult with you, someone tried to kill me. And the staff member who guided me to this room has conveniently disappeared without a trace. Were you part of that scheme?” Gracie’s accusation came out sharp and direct.
The man shook his head slowly, his expression grave. “I had no involvement whatsoever. You were set up — manipulated by forces beyond this place.”
He lifted his head slowly, his ancient gaze dropping to Gracie’s swollen belly. “You’re nearing your due date, aren’t you? Why do you continue to fight against what’s inevitable? I’ve told you before — in this lifetime, you are not fated to bear children. Defying destiny will only bring you profound, lifelong regret.”
“No one can say for certain until the very end.” A faint, defiant smile touched Gracie’s lips. “Right now, at this very moment, they’re alive inside me. Their hearts are beating. As long as they aren’t born dead, I will never give up on them.”
The man studied her unwavering resolve and released a heavy sigh. “You are the most stubborn woman I have ever encountered. I cast your fortune last night. The path before you is treacherous — filled with danger at every turn. How can you possibly hope to overturn your predetermined fate in the span of a single month?”
“Treacherous? Filled with danger?” Gracie’s brow furrowed sharply.
If everything proceeded according to plan, Brayden would wake from surgery today, and she’d successfully stalled Eaton’s plans for the time being.

And overseas, Ian’s scheme had collapsed entirely. What dangers could possibly still be lurking?
The man continued, his voice taking on an otherworldly quality, “Very soon, another soul who has been granted rebirth will emerge into this world… After cycling through countless trials and tribulations, the ending will remain exactly as it was always destined to be.”
Gracie’s pupils constricted to pinpoints, and her heart began hammering against her ribs.
Another person brought back to life?
Who? Who else had died?
Overseas, late at night, Ian retrieved a body from the private morgue and transported it carefully down to the basement laboratory.
He laid the body bag on a metal cot with reverent care, then slowly unzipped it, revealing a face that was ghostly pale and covered in a thin layer of frost.
“Theo, we’re out of options. This is our final gamble — everything rests on this.” Ian pulled a half-filled vial of blue reagent from his pocket. Without allowing himself a moment’s hesitation, he drove the needle directly into Theo’s frozen chest.
The luminous blue liquid drained slowly from the syringe into the corpse, but the figure on the cot remained utterly still — lifeless.
Half an hour crawled by. Then, gradually, the frost coating the body’s skin began to melt and dissipate.
