Chapter 1189:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Eaton stood frozen in place, staring down at Zane in complete, paralyzing shock. “You’re… you’re actually Theo? How is that possible?”
He suddenly lunged forward and seized Zane’s shoulders, his voice shaking with desperate hope. “You’re lying to me, aren’t you? This is a test! Gracie sent you to manipulate me, didn’t she?”
Zane shoved him away with contempt and rose slowly to his feet, methodically straightening his disheveled collar. “Eaton, don’t you find yourself absolutely revolting?”
Eaton’s entire body began trembling.

That tone of voice, that particular look in his eyes — they were unmistakably, heartbreakingly identical to Theo’s.
There was no mistaking it. That explained the inexplicable sense of recognition he’d felt when they’d first crossed paths outside the prison gates. Theo had already been resurrected by then.
“How is this possible? When I encountered you outside that prison, I hadn’t even obtained the Rebirth serum yet. Who resurrected you? How did this happen?” Eaton’s voice climbed with confusion and desperate need to understand.
Theo’s expression went cold and hard. “I have no idea how I was brought back to life, but I know with absolute certainty it had nothing to do with you! Now answer me — why did you poison my mother? What the hell were you thinking?”
Eaton’s lips trembled, and after a long, agonizing pause, the words finally tumbled out. “It wasn’t until after you died that I understood my own feelings. The regret nearly destroyed me. I wanted to avenge you, to bring you back to life no matter what it cost.”
He stepped closer, staring with desperate intensity into Theo’s eyes. “You weren’t reborn in your own body — you have a completely new identity now. Don’t you see? We can start over! I’ve already burned bridges with Brayden and Gracie. I can take my family and you, and we can disappear overseas. We can begin an entirely new life together.”
Theo released a harsh, derisive laugh and turned on his heel, striding toward the stairs.
Eaton followed close behind, and the two ascended to the living room on the first floor.
Theo threw himself onto the sofa and fixed Eaton with a mocking stare. “You want to whisk me away overseas to start a romantic new life? What makes you think I’d abandon everything I’ve worked for? If it weren’t for Brayden and Gracie, I wouldn’t be trapped in this stranger’s body in the first place!”
Eaton’s head snapped up. “Then what are you planning to do?”
“I’ve positioned myself as Gracie’s assistant — I’ve infiltrated their inner circle completely. So naturally, I’m going to finish what I started! I’m going to burn the entire Stanley estate to the ground!”
“You…” Eaton stumbled backward several steps, anguish written across his features. “After everything — you still can’t let go of your hatred.”
He’d believed that bringing Theo back would somehow change everything — that resurrection would give Theo a second chance at peace. But the reality had deviated catastrophically from his expectations. Theo was more determined than ever to complete his revenge.
