Chapter 301:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“You want me to stay with you one night?” Armand Bernie’s eyes narrowed, and his tone was as icy as the northwest wind in winter.
How was she taking it?
Besides, Phoebe Lewis was so crazy now that she couldn’t feel her innocence and compassion before this.
“I will not betray my wife.” She stood her ground.
“I’m not asking you to sleep with me, I’m asking you to go with me,” Phoebe paused, lowered her voice and clenched her fists tightly.
“Me neither.” Armand continued to refuse.
“Are you really that unsympathetic?” “If you leave today, I assure you, you’ll come back to see me as a corpse. I said it, I mean it. You can leave if you don’t believe it,” Phoebe commented with an unhinged smile.
Phoebe sat down on the couch after getting up from the floor.
“Are you making me?” Armand’s eyes bugged out.
Phoebe realized that if she kept pretending to be generous, she would never be able to pull it off. Therefore, she would do everything she could to make him stay and to confuse Theresa Gordon.
She only had a chance if they divorced.
“You force me. In fact, I was the one who left first, but I never violated the love between us. It was you, who didn’t even think about the good times we had. You’re so hard on me – how can you blame me for being immoral?” She raised her eyes and stared at Armand.

Armand remained in the same place for a long time before looking at Phoebe: “Are you serious, as long as I stay with you today, you won’t disturb my life in the future?”
“Yes, it will all end after this, I will follow your wishes,” Phoebe agreed.
Armand paused and nodded in agreement. When Phoebe had left that time, they had not formally said goodbye. Now that he had married Theresa, Phoebe revealed to him the truth about what happened, not because of the betrayal of their relationship, but simply because they deserved an end to their relationship.
In a way, he was the one who let her down.
He should be reasonable and okay if she just wanted him to be with her.
“I’m going to make a phone call.” Armand decided to contact Theresa and informed her that she should not wait and that he would explain everything when he returned.
He made the phone call, but she did not answer.
Armand’s assistant was off duty since Theresa was there, so he stayed inside while the other attorneys had already left.
“Do you want to keep waiting for Armand?” the assistant asked.
Since Armand and Theresa’s marriage did not take place in B-town, few people knew about it, and Armand had not had time to announce it.
Originally, he had planned to gather everyone in the company for dinner together, and then introduce Theresa as his wife to everyone.
Only, since the end of the year was just around the corner, he had something to manage and wasn’t free to do so.
Theresa pulled out her phone to see what time it was. However, when she pulled out her phone, she saw that it had automatically turned off when it ran out of battery.
“What time is it?” she asked the assistant.
“It’s almost twelve,” the assistant said as he looked at the time.
She had broken her word after all, so she felt a little annoyed and disappointed.
She pretended she was fine, but deep down she felt sad and heartbroken.
“Can you help me with a divorce settlement?” her voice was a little shaky.
“Okay, give me a second,” the paralegal was very used to handling this kind of thing.
The assistant thought Theresa was here to ask Armand for advice and it was obvious she had filed for divorce.
“Why is she getting a divorce, is her spouse cheating on her?” the assistant asked.
Today, most couples divorce for this reason, especially women who come to his chamber and most of them are here to file for divorce because their husbands cheat on them.
“Yes, I think so,” Theresa said as she faked a smile.
The assistant was a man, he felt this was an injustice after hearing this,
“Nowadays men are not to be trusted.”
She thought this woman looked so youthful and charming, she wondered why her husband kept wanting to cheat on her.
Was it true that the mistress was always more attractive than his wife?
The assistant acted quickly, he was holding the PC to redact the contents, while asking Theresa’s circumstance, “Do you have children? Do you have any problems with the division of assets? What would you like to get out of this, since your husband was the one who cheated and was the wrong party, can we fight for you to maximize your welfare?”
Theresa felt hard, her mouth was bitter and she shook her head, “We don’t have children, we don’t have a problem with the division of assets either. To be honest, we don’t even have a marriage certificate, we only have our relatives as witnesses to our wedding, in case I have to end our relationship, what should I do then?”
The attendant was dumbfounded, as they did not even have a marriage certificate, which meant that their marriage was not protected by law.
In numerous provincial regions, there have been cases of people getting married before they reached the required age. Since they were not mature enough to obtain a marriage certificate, they merely celebrated a wedding witnessed by their relatives.
In reality, that did not mean they were husband and wife by any means, their marriage was not protected by law.
“For this situation, both of you can arrange and have a talk about it. Obviously, if the other party does not agree, or asks you for something that is unreasonable, you can initiate legal proceedings against him, i.e. settle all this through the courts. However, this is not considered a divorce, but only a dispute. Legitimately they are not husband and wife, so this cannot be treated as a divorce case.”
Theresa probably understood, in other words, if she wanted to sever the relationship with Armand, they would both have to argue with him.
“Hold on, I’ll ask our boss.” The assistant wasn’t really an expert in dealing with such things.
She needed Armand’s advice. She called Armand.
Right now, Armand was sitting on the couch, and Phoebe wasn’t bothering him, but sleeping next to him.
When he heard the phone ring, he thought it was Theresa and immediately pulled out the phone, when he saw it was his assistant, his face became serious. He pressed the button and answered the call, “What’s up?”.
“Here comes a client who needs information about some legal matter, I don’t know much about it…”
“Look for Mr. Wong, he is good at handling legal matters about marriage.” Now Armand didn’t want to handle such things.
After saying that, he hung up the phone.
The assistant looked at the phone for a while. Armand wasn’t usually like this, he was so careful and serious at work, what was wrong with him?
Theresa asked, “Did you call Armand?”
She merely speculated, the voice she heard sounded just like Armand’s.
The assistant nodded and mumbled, “It’s Armand, I have no idea what he’s busy with, normally, he would be patient and explain, unlike this time, it’s extremely surprising.”
Theresa smiled, she was now dating her lover, how was she going to concentrate on work?
He had probably completely forgotten that she was waiting for him.
What could she expect from him?
She got up, the assistant left the PC and followed her, “Mr. Wong is excellent at handling these types of cases, would you like me to contact Mr. Wong for you?”
Theresa said, “I will come back again if I need his help.”
She turned and walked out of the chamber, stayed on the road for some time. It was still the same blue sky but the people changed Maybe it was all fake from the beginning.
It was time to end it.
He took a cab back.
Mrs. Leslie was not there, the house was in absolute silence, he went back to the room.
He found his luggage in the closet, put all his attire and daily supplies in it. She didn’t have much stuff at first, simply because warm clothes for the winter took up more space, in any case, the luggage was enough for all her things.
He sat on the edge of the bed. The area under her feet was where Armand had slept the night before.
For no reason, she smiled.
From the beginning, she thought Armand cared about her feelings not to sleep with her.
He thought again clearly, wasn’t it because the lady he loved had returned and he wouldn’t want to stay near her?
What exactly was she to him?
Was she just a sex object?
