Chapter 334:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
He thought, “What would she look like if she were pregnant?”.
Maybe because the imagination was so beautiful, he didn’t even realize he was smiling.
Dolores was enjoying the soup Matthew gave her and didn’t notice his unusual smile. It was spring, but the temperature was still low, hot soup was the best thing to warm the body.
Dolores went to the bathroom in the middle of dinner and was stopped by a waitress on her way out, “Hello, are you Miss Flores?”.
Instead of saying “yes,” Dolores had a strange feeling and alertly asked, “What’s up?”
The waitress pulled a letter out of her pocket, “There’s a gentleman in a wheelchair who wants this passed to him.”
Charles told her to give this to Dolores when she bribed the waitress.
So the waitress knew to approach Dolores. The reason she asked her name was just to check in case she was wrong. She didn’t expect Dolores to be so cautious as to pull out the letter.
Dolores looked around instinctively, but the waitress said, “He’s gone.” Was Charles already in B-town?

She took the letter and hesitated for a second before opening it. There wasn’t much content in the letter, just a paragraph, “I’m at the Kong-Tsing Hotel, room 608. Come here I want to tell you something.”
Dolores frowned and had a strange feeling, and she wasn’t planning to go there.
It didn’t interest her at all.
She tore up and threw the letter in a wastebasket and then headed for the dining room. Matthew was on the phone with a serious look on his face. Dolores sat down and asked after he hung up the phone, “Who was that?”
Matthew said it was from Marina. She said they were at the hospital because Jeffery Harris had been in a car accident. Matthew had to go check because his son was overseas.
He got up and said, “I’ll take you home first.”
Dolores soon became nervous and felt it was related to Charles. If not, how could it be a coincidence? She heard the news of the car accident right after she read the letter.
She looked at Matthew and said, “You can go to the hospital first, I’ll take a cab back.”
Matthew pursed his lips, worried for her.
Dolores grabbed his hand and said, “Don’t treat me like a child. I was very independent before I met you. I’m an adult now, I can take care of myself.”
Matthew thought about it and said, “Call me when you’re home.”
Dolores nodded firmly and asked him, “You can go now!”.
After Matthew left, it took Dolores a while to get out of the restaurant. She waited for the cab on the side of the road. Although it was now February, the weather was still cold, so she clutched her coat in her hands.
A car pulled up next to her, Tom got out of the car and opened the door, inviting Dolores to get into the car, “Please, Miss Flores.”
Tom was Charles’ assistant. Now she claimed that Charles was definitely involved in this.
If not, how else could it all happen with such coincidence?
Tom arrived as soon as Matthew left.
Now she was quite curious as to what Charles was going to tell her.
She bent down and climbed into the car.
The car soon started and sent her off to the hotel.
Tom got out of the car first to open the door for Dolores when they arrived. Once Dolores was out of the car, Tom made a “please” gesture. Dolores gave him a look and entered the hotel.
Tom guided her through the lobby and up the elevator to the sixth floor. When they reached room 608, Tom stood by the door, “Miss Flores, please. Mr. White is waiting for you.”
Dolores pressed the doorknob and opened the door.
It was very warm in the room and there were several French windows just off the living room. Charles was sitting with his back against the door. It looked like he was either enjoying the beautiful night view or waiting for someone.
He walked into the room.
“You’re here.”
Charles didn’t look back.
“Of course I have to pay you a visit, since you’ve spent so much effort on me.” Dolores stood beside him looking out. The night view of B-town was truly fabulous, as the entire city was covered in neon lights. It was refulgent and splendid.
“No wonder you wanted to come back, it’s really beautiful.”
“No, that wasn’t the reason I came back. I came because of who lives in town.” Charles finally turned and looked at her.
But Dolores wasn’t looking at him; she was leaving her side facing him. “If Jeffery hadn’t had an accident, would you have come here?”
“No.” replied Dolores.
Charles smiled helplessly, “You don’t think I’m hurt.”
“If you really were hurt, you might have been hurt for a long time.”
After all, he knew what her and Matthew’s relationship was like when they were in White City. She didn’t want to hurt him, so she wouldn’t come to see him.
“I’m here for half a month.” Charles said lightly.
Dolores looked at him in surprise, ‘You came here for half a month?’
‘What did you do during that time?’
“Shouldn’t it be as simple as Jeffery had a car accident?”
Dolores was very confused, ‘Isn’t it easier to find her directly? Why did he go to so much effort to plan other things’.
Charles didn’t hide and said, “I knew.”
“You knew what?” Dolores had a bad feeling.
“I know that Jeffery cut off my foster father’s finger.” Charles looked deeply at Dolores, “You know, don’t you? You know all about it. But you promised someone you wouldn’t tell the truth, didn’t you?”.
Dolores clenched her hands and didn’t answer him directly, “So you’re here to get revenge? So Jeffery was doomed and you did it on purpose?”
Charles got Kevin Forbis to willingly tell him that Jeffery cut off Nathan White’s finger back then.
But he told him no more. Charles realized that Kevin also really hated Jeffery and so he was willing to tell him the truth.
It was totally understandable that his sister was incarcerated after all. Therefore, Kevin took advantage of Charles to get back at Jeffery for his little sister.
“Is that what you wanted to tell me?” Dolores couldn’t stop him or tell Matthew what Charles did.
“No, I want to see you.” Charles looked at her.
Dolores pretended to be relaxed, “I have a husband.”
Charles smiled bitterly, “You can’t help mentioning it?”
Dolores didn’t pursue the subject, “It’s hard to do anything with him. You have to be aware that you’re in B-town and not White Town. But if you’ve already decided I’m not going to stop you, I know everyone has their own choice. However, I want to remind you that an eye for an eye will only lead you to a dead end.”
‘If Charles does something with Jeffery, then what would happen to Nathan? No’.
Supposed revenge was only a consolation for the people who were still alive.
“I have to go.” Dolores was about to leave.
Charles called her and asked, “If your family suffered such a miserable life, would you also forgive the murderer?”
Dolores paused, but did not answer him. Because she was not sure. She found it very hard to let go of all the resentment, just as she hated Randolph Flores.
