Chapter 454:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Eddie turned to look at Jeffery. “What’s wrong with liking it?”
Jeffery gasped. “It looks like our relationship must be over.”
“Can’t I have a right to like a woman?” Jeffery remained silent.

He wasn’t forbidding Eddie to like his sister, but he felt rather uncomfortable. They had been best friends for many years. He had thought that Eddie was only treating Jolene as his own younger sister.
To his surprise, Eddie had these thoughts.
“A man is bitter but not content.”
Eddie knew what that meant. However, he suffered a lot so that the knot in his heart could not be fully resolved. He had been in love with Jolene when he was young. His longing for her had turned into the obsession of not being able to win her heart.
He always believed that, if Jolene had been able to marry him, she would not pass away so soon. They would lead a happy life. At least he loved her, could care for her and want her.
“It’s good that you understand. You’d better behave yourself. You’re too old now. If your wife left you and your family broke up, others would make fun of you.” Jeffery turned and walked out of the studio.
Sitting in the car, he was feeling very depressed. The assistant asked him, “Do you want to go home?”
“I’m going to the cemetery.” Jeffery began to miss Jolene. He wanted to visit her.
The aide drove to the suburban cemetery. Once Jeffery mentioned the cemetery, the aide knew who he was going to visit.
“Wait. I’ll buy a bouquet at the florist first. Otherwise, there won’t be anything in its place. She would be very lonely.”
The aide turned around at the intersection ahead.
Jeffery didn’t buy the chrysanthemums. Instead, he bought a bouquet of iris proantha, which was Jolene’s favorite when she was alive.
With the bouquet in hand, Jeffery sat back in the car. As the aide was starting the engine, Jeffery casually glanced out the window, only to find Victoria and Dolores on the street with two children, followed by a few bodyguards.
“We can’t stay out too long. You must be too exhausted. Let’s go home after we buy the cake.” Victoria was worried about Dolores’ strength.
Dolores agreed.
Suddenly, the two children wanted to eat the thousand-layer mousse cake. Dolores thought it wouldn’t be long before they did. She also wanted to take a walk with the children.
“I’ll go get the cake. Please wait for me here.” Victoria walked into the bakery.
Jeffery couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but he could see that they looked quite happy. Immediately, he withdrew his gaze. Looking down at the flowers in her arms, he stroked them gently.
He muttered to himself, “Your son is big trouble.”
The car roared away. Jeffery still didn’t look back. He just ducked his head as he looked at the flowers in his arms.
Victoria came out with the cake. “Let’s go home.”
“Yes! Let’s go home to get the cake!” said Simona excitedly.
Victoria smiled. “Silly girl, do you still have a space for it?”
“Of course. I do,” Simona immediately emphasized as if she wasn’t allowed to eat it.
“Let’s get in the car.”
Dolores stood in front of the door and let the children get in first. Simona looked like she hadn’t had any fun yet outside. “Looks like there will be some fun in the evening, too.”
Victoria patted her little butt. “I’ll take them out for some fun tomorrow.”
“Is Mommy coming with us?” Simona turned and looked at Dolores. The latter blinked expectantly.
“Isn’t it the same if I go out with you? Don’t you know there’s a little baby in Mommy’s tummy?”
Simona pouted. Although she wanted to go out with her mother, she understood that there was a little baby in her mother’s tummy. Her father told them that if they didn’t take good care of the baby, the baby would leave. To prevent the baby from leaving, Simona decided not to go out with her mother.
Back at the villa, Victoria took the cake and cut it into pieces. They each ate a small piece. As it was getting late, they couldn’t eat too much.
Victoria was afraid they would choke, so she poured glasses of juice for each child, brought them to the table and put the glasses in front of them.
“It’s a very small piece.” Simona looked at the cake on the plate. She didn’t think it was enough for her. Samuel shook his head and gave her half of his piece.
Simona smiled delightedly. “Thank you, Samuel.”
“If you got fat, you wouldn’t fit into pretty dresses.”
Samuel purposely gave her a smack. However, if Simona ate too much cake at night, she was sure to get fat.
Simona snorted. “Do we have any fat relatives? Dad’s not fat. Mom’s not fat. How could she be fat? We’re supposed to be a thin family.” Samuel was speechless.
He wondered why his little sister had become so snarky and he could answer her.
“Okay. Go ahead.” Samuel felt helpless.
“Of course, I’ll finish them. If not, I’ll leave some for Dad.” Simona took a spoonful of cake and popped it into her mouth gleefully.
Seeing Simona lick the spoon, Samuel frowned deeply. “Your spit would be left on it – who would eat it?”
“Daddy! Daddy wouldn’t mind.” The little girl was very sure of herself. Her father didn’t even mind her saliva when he kissed.
Victoria shook her head, thinking Simona was really funny.
Dolores curled up on the couch, feeling a little sleepy. Watching the children eat at the table, she couldn’t help but curl her lips slightly.
“They can go upstairs to sleep. I’ll take care of them.” Victoria noticed that Dolores was quite sleepy.
Dolores nodded. She didn’t feel tired or uncomfortable, but she was sleepy. She stood up. “Okay, I’ll go take a nap.”
She walked steadily and quietly up the stairs. She turned on the light and the bedroom brightened. The lilies on the bedside table looked a little wilted.
However, he was reluctant to throw them away. Reaching out, she touched the petals, which still emanated a faint fragrance. She planned to buy another bouquet to change another day.
She would look more cheerful with a bouquet in the room.
She went to bed without showering. She was too sleepy to move. Tucked into the comforter, as soon as she lay down, she fell asleep.
In the night, she heard some dizzy movements. She opened her eyes. The light in the room was not on. Moonlight was falling from outside the window. She saw a figure in the room.
As soon as he woke up, he said in a hoarse tone, “You’re back.” He took off his suit jacket and approached. “Did I wake you?” Dolores hummed. She woke up at the sound of movement.
She fumbled for her phone and glanced at the time: it was already past two in the morning. “Why so late?”
“I was busy with some business earlier. I’m going to take a shower. Go back to sleep.” He reached over to caress her cheeks, which were warm with soft skin. He enjoyed caressing her.
Feeling tickled, Dolores pulled away. Matthew smiled, “Good night.”
He turned and headed for the bathroom. As he walked, he unbuckled his belt, letting the creak of metal be heard. He turned on the light after he entered. Soon, Dolores heard the sound of running water.
She was very sleepy. Despite the sounds, she gradually fell asleep again. However, she faintly felt the mattress sink beside her. Her waist was wrapped by a strong arm along with a faint fragrance from the shower gel. His cool, soft lips clung to the nape of her neck. He continued to kiss and bite her gently. It didn’t hurt but it tickled. Dolores murmured, “I’m sleepy.”
“Ehn. Go ahead and sleep.” His lips didn’t leave her skin. His kisses turned into rubs.
Dolores furrowed her brows. She couldn’t sleep peacefully at all when he teased her like this.
