Chapter 538:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Dolores opened the door and standing in the doorway was a helmeted delivery man. He was carrying a box, “May I know if you are Mrs. Flores?”
She nodded, “I am.”

The delivery man handed her the box, “This is your package, please sign your receipt here.”
Dolores was pinned to the spot, she hadn’t bought anything. The package last time was pictures, what would it be this time?
And was it such a big box?
“Can you put it down and open it to see if the items inside are damaged?” Dolores didn’t sign immediately. She was afraid that what was inside was something ‘scary’ or dangerous.
The delivery man was very quiet, in fact, there were many customers who wanted to check if the items were damaged. He set the box down, and opened the tape in a familiar manner. When he opened the box, in it was another polystyrene box. The delivery man opened the styrofoam box, and on the top layer was a wrapper, and underneath was a layer of fresh green carrots.
Dolores was stunned for a moment, surprised to have received those green carrots.
“Please check them for damage.” The delivery man raised his head to look at Dolores.
Coming back to her senses, Dolores quickly signed the receipt for the delivery man,
“Could you help me get it in the house?”
She wouldn’t manage to get the box in by herself.
The delivery man replied, “Sure thing.”
Dolores wasn’t intentionally making things difficult for him. She was simply worried that she had received something dangerous. The weather was very hot outside, she pulled a bottle of cold water from the refrigerator and passed it to him, “Thank you for your hard work.”
The delivery man smiled and took the bottle from Dolores, “Don’t worry, this is our job”.
When the delivery man left, Dolores closed the door and headed for the living room. Looking at the box of green carrots on the table, she reached out to pull one out. It still had the leaves and looked especially fresh. He went into the kitchen to cut one. It was red inside and very crunchy. He didn’t have to peel the skin, it came off with a light scratch. He took a bite, it wasn’t spicy and had a hint of carrot flavor. This was because there was plastic wrap in the styrofoam box. The carrot had a refreshing taste, especially suitable for this weather.
With a click, there was the sound of the bedroom door opening. Dolores turned to look around. Quickly, Theresa stepped inside. Seeing Dolores sitting at the table eating carrots, she frowned. She thought to herself, “Has she gotten addicted to that?”. She changed her shoes and walked over, reaching out to open the box on the table. In it was a whole row of fresh carrots. She looked up at Dolores in surprise, “You bought that much, can you finish them?”
Chewing the carrots in her mouth, Dolores shook her head, “I didn’t buy them.”
The carrot was crunchy and chewing sounds came out of Dolores’ chewing. Theresa was very curious, are raw carrots so delicious?
She went to the kitchen, picked up the other half that Dolores had cut up and took a bite. There was no taste to the rawness of the carrots. Although it wasn’t very tasty, it didn’t taste bad either. He came out of the kitchen, “If it wasn’t you, who bought them?”
Dolores knew it in her heart, and raised her head to look at Theresa, “I just told you before that I wanted to eat these, who else did you tell?” Theresa was speechless.
She pulled the chair back and sat down, smiling, “Your husband is very thoughtful.”
She had only told Matthew before, so it could only be him who had bought this.
I couldn’t deny that this guy is cold on the outside, but warm on the inside.
He’s very considerate of his wife.
“Even though he’s not by your side, he’s still very concerned about you.” said Theresa smiling.
Dolores wasn’t very happy, it wasn’t because he had sent her food, but because of what she had been going through all day.
“Did you give him the stuff?” She asked.
Theresa shook her head, “Not yet, he said he was coming, it looked like he wasn’t in B-Town.”
She thought, if he was in B-Town, he would send it to her. But he had asked to be left here.
Dolores frowned, if he wasn’t in B-town, where was he going with the two children? Would they be in danger?
Logically, once the matter with Jeffery was settled, there shouldn’t be anything else for the time being.
“What’s wrong?” Theresa asked worriedly, “I’ve noticed that the color of your face is not good since you received that package in the afternoon, what’s really inside?”
Although Dolores had given her the package, but without Dolores’ permission, she still didn’t want to look at it.
“Take a look at it yourself, then you’ll understand.” Once Dolores thought about those pictures, she felt her spirits sink. Although she knew there might be a possibility that it was fake, but the photos seemed too real, as if it had really happened before.
She was a woman too, it was impossible for her not to be affected.
Unless she didn’t love Matthew. But she did. If any wife saw the pictures of her husband in bed with other women, it was impossible for her not to feel anything.
After all, she was a woman too, just an ordinary woman.
Dolores felt very tired, emotionally tired. She got up, “I’ll go out and get some fresh air.”
Theresa reminded her, “Don’t come back too late, just walk around the area.”
She agreed and headed to the porch to change her shoes. Just then, the hand phone in her pocket rang, on it was a string of unknown numbers, no name.
He had changed his number since he arrived in C-Town, not many people knew his number. What’s more, she had saved the numbers of those who knew her. If there was the occasional odd number, they were usually advertisements. She hung it up, and when she put it back in her pocket, it rang again. She wasn’t in a good mood, but this person was still bothering her. She answered with a snort. “Hello.”
“It’s me.”
