Chapter 861:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Jayden’s eyes flooded with a few tears.
He had never shown his reluctance towards his son, but now he was reluctant to let them.
How adorable they were but he couldn’t watch them grow up.
“Grandpa today is the Mid-Autumn Feast. Grandma and Coral have prepared a table of dishes. My teacher told me that we should eat mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival since it is a family reunion party. Grandpa, do you want to eat mooncakes?” Amanda spoke next to Jayden’s ear.
Jayden asked, “What kind of fillings do mooncakes have?”
“According to the details on the box, there are salted egg yolk, five-grain, and ham fillings…”
Amanda recited a bunch of words and finally said, “Which one do you want to eat, Grandpa?”
Jayden was entranced and had just realized that day was the Mid-Autumn Festival.
It was a good day.
How could he not eat mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival?
So he replied to Amanda that he wanted five stuffed pies.
Dolores said she would go get them, but Amanda pulled her aside and stopped her. She wanted to do it herself and ran off with her little paws. After a while, she brought a piece of mooncakes and leaned over the bed and said, “The piece is too big for you to bite, so I’ve split it.”
Amanda broke the mooncakes in half, revealing the filling inside which consisted of walnuts, almonds, sesame seeds and melon seeds….
She broke off a small piece and popped it into her grandfather’s mouth, she said, “Grandpa, taste it…”
Jayden opened his mouth to bite into the mooncakes his granddaughter was giving him.
“Is it delicious?” asked Amanda with a smile, her eyebrows arched as she smiled. Jayden nodded and said, “Yummy.”

Andrew gave her some water as he was afraid she would be thirsty after eating the mooncakes.
Jayden couldn’t drink any more after two sips.
His face was becoming increasingly pale and waxy, and his eyes were dull and cloudy.
Joshua, who was asleep in the room, woke up and cried incessantly.
Jessica couldn’t convince him to stop crying, so she took him to Dolores. Once Dolores hugged him, Joshua stopped crying immediately, but he still had tears in his eyes.
Jayden greeted Joshua and tried to look at him, but realized he no longer had the energy to speak.
Dolores realized Jayden’s intention and immediately turned Joshua toward him. Joshua stared at Jayden with his big, round eyes even though he couldn’t see him clearly.
Everyone outside the room came in and gathered around the bed to give him one last look.
Jayden took one look into Joshua’s eyes with a smile and slowly closed his eyes.
“Grandpa!” Amanda grabbed Jayden, “Please don’t fall asleep and talk to me more…”
Andrew’s tears fell immediately, he understood better than his sister that their grandfather might have left them for good. He could no longer talk to them; send him back after school; teach them homework….
“Grandpa…”
After hearing the sounds coming from the room, Doctor Jason went in to examine Jayden. After examining him, he glanced at the time and shook his head at Matthew.
His action had symbolized that Jayden had passed away.
With his hands behind his back, Matthew nodded to Doctor Jason, indicating that he knew.
“Let’s see what time it is, it’s now a quarter past twelve. He passed away after spending his family reunion fest.
Doctor Jason sighed, “My condolences.”
The hands behind Matthew’s back were clenched, he was trying hard to contain his emotions, “Boyce, can you help me send Doctor Jason back?”
Boyce approached and Doctor Jason said, “You don’t need to send me back, I’ll go alone. You might need someone to help you.” There would be a lot of work for the funeral.
“Then I’ll take you to the entrance,” Boyce said.
Doctor Jason nodded.
Amanda, who was lying on the edge of the bed, couldn’t wake Jayden and cocked her head to ask Dolores, “Mom, why isn’t Grandpa talking to me anymore? When will he wake up from his sleep?”
“Grandpa won’t wake up anymore,” Andrew choked out.
“You’re lying!” Amanda couldn’t believe what Andrew was saying. Her eyes were red and there were tears in her eyes, “Andrew, you’re such a jerk! Why are you saying Grandpa won’t wake up?”
His tears fell right after he said the sentence.
Dolores passed Joshua to Jessica. Jessica wiped his face before carrying him.
She also wiped her daughter’s tears.
Amanda wrapped her arms around Dolores’ waist and buried her face in her arms, “Mom, is Grandpa really leaving us?”
Dolores was so upset that she couldn’t speak for a long time.
It took her a moment to calm down before she told her daughter, “Grandpa has gone to another world…”.
The room was filled with sadness.
Sobbing could be heard all over the room, as the moment of separation was always sad.
It was unstoppable.
Dolores wiped away her tears and motioned to Jasmine, “Help me take these two children to their rooms.”
Everyone was still grieving over Jayden’s death, someone had to be there to control the situation.
Jasmine pursed her lips and reached over, picking Amanda up, but Amanda was reluctant to leave, and clung to the corners of the blanket, “I don’t want to leave Grandpa…” She cried sadly.
Andrew tugged at the blanket and wailed, “I’m not leaving, I want to stay with Grandpa. Then I won’t be able to see him. I won’t see him again…”.
Dolores’ tears, which she had at first repressed, fell all at once.
The crying of the two children made everyone feel more heartbroken.
Kevin collapsed on the side of the bed, Dolores immediately picked him up, “Mr. Forbis.”
Boyce returned to the room after sending Doctor Jason in. When he saw Dolores struggling to hold Kevin up, he walked over and held him.
“Take him to his room to rest,” Dolores said quietly.
Boyce nodded. Not seeing Matthew in the room, he asked in a whisper, “Where’s Matthew?”
Dolores wasn’t paying attention at the time. She only noticed that he wasn’t in the room.
“You have to look for him. He must be having a hard time right now.” Boyce said to Dolores.
She understood. She nodded and helped Boyce send Kevin to his room, “You take care of him for me.”
She was not calm, as Kevin was very old and still had to deal with this heartbreaking situation.
Boyce spoke to her to be calm as he would take care of him and let her go get Matthew first.
Dolores came out of the house and saw the light on in the study room, so she headed that way.
When she reached the door, she gently pushed it open.
