Chapter 867:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
When the driver decided to return, he was ready to accept any punishment.
He raised his head, “I found out that he did all this because he was enchanted by the woman he’s with.”
“How do you know that?” asked Boyce.
The driver recalled that when his wife and son were arrested and when he met Benjamin, the woman wouldn’t stop talking.
“I’m not going to lie.” The driver swore.
Boyce chimed in, “Is she credible?”
He didn’t know Benjamin well. If he was charmed by the woman, that would be easy to figure out. However, if he had been lurking, then he was evil.
Matthew glanced at the floor. He hid his thoughts, “Benjamin has always been down to earth. If he’s waiting for a chance to fight for the family fortune, his lurking period is too long. He’s old, what’s the point of him getting his hands on the family fortune? He has no children, why does he need so much money? Besides, he is rich.
‘He leads a carefree life these years and it doesn’t seem to be false.’
‘The change is more of an external cause. It doesn’t seem to have been planned for a long time. It would be stupid for him to have planned such a scheme after decades’.
“Do we still have time?” asked Boyce.

Matthew looked at the driver and asked, ‘Have you been to his residence?’
He had heard that Benjamin had many residences. Since he didn’t like to contact them, he didn’t pay much attention to them, and it was a waste of time to investigate them now.
The driver nodded hurriedly, trying to redeem his sins with good deeds, “I know her. I can take you there.”
Boyce asked, “Do you think Benjamin will stay in the place you know?”
“In their eyes, I’m the one who betrayed Mr. Nelson, how could they expect me to come back? They would think I ran away. They wouldn’t think I’d take you there,” the driver said.
Boyce thought it was doable and told Matthew, “When it’s nighttime, I’ll ask someone to go get Joshua.”
“You should organize two people who are strong to go to the village first.” He was worried about Dolores and the children there, but if he let Dolores go back, she would know that Joshua was missing and she would definitely feel desolate. He intentionally asked her to go to the villa, trying to hide it from her.
“Where’s Joshua?” Jessica suddenly burst in.
She had been at Kevin’s side and returned later. Coral was with her. When they learned that Dolores and the two children had gone to the villa, they cooperated with each other. One of them went to the village to take care of them. One of them took care of them in the Flores family. She was not at home for a day. The first thing she did when she came back was to see Joshua, but he wasn’t there.
Jasmine bit her lip. There were tears in her eyes, “Jos…. Joshua is…”
“I had asked someone to bring Joshua to the villa.” Matthew stood up and said, “I’ll go there later too.
I don’t want to intentionally hide the truth, but if I tell the truth now, I worry that they might not accept it.
What Benjamin wants now is the family fortune. Before he gets it, I think he won’t hurt Joshua, so he’s safe for the time being.
“Oh.” Jessica didn’t think much of it. She turned and left.
Boyce said he would make the arrangements and brought Jasmine along too.
After arranging everything and when it was late at night, the driver took them to one of Benjamin’s private residences. It was in a secluded location but the location was ideal.
The modern architecture was technologically advanced. Therefore, the anti-theft system was also excellent. As they had just entered the courtyard, the alarm sounded.
Boyce had no choice but to get his men out first.
It was impossible for them to sneak in, as he had been alerted.
“There’s an anti-theft system here, but there aren’t many people, so we can get into the house,” the driver said. He was still somewhat confident in his ability.
Boyce said calmly, “We don’t know if Joshua is here, so if we go in like this, will we put him in danger in case he’s not here? If you move Joshua somewhere else, it will be harder for us to find him.”
Matthew weighed the pros and cons in his mind and said, “Since we’ve alerted him, we’ll do our best.
If Joshua is really here, we will definitely have attracted his attention. If Joshua is here, then they will worry about us finding him and will definitely move him somewhere else. This way, we just have to ask someone to keep watch here and we can find Joshua. If Joshua is not here, they will be more alert.”
“I’ll keep watch here,” Boyce said.
At this point, he could only feel relieved if Boyce was the one watching the place.
“I’ll stay, too.” The driver was eager to redeem his sins with good deeds.
Matthew said nothing. He was sort of acquiescing. He turned around and headed for the car.
He got into the car and started the engine. As he was about to drive away, the phone in his pocket rang. It was Armand calling. He said Dolores had a fever.
She had been lying since she came home. Theresa could tell something was wrong and then she realized she had a fever.
Matthew said, “I got it.”
He put the phone down and turned the car around to drive to the villa.
There were no lights on the road and he relied only on headlights to illuminate the road. It took him a long time to locate the house.
There was someone standing in the doorway. It was the men Boyce had arranged for. Matthew entered the house. Armand was in the living room. When he saw Matthew, he got up from the couch, “He’s upstairs. Theresa had given him the medicine.”
Matthew nodded and asked, “Where are the two boys?”
“Theresa had asked them to go to sleep,” Armand replied.
“It’s late now, you should get some rest too.” After saying this, he went upstairs.
He pushed open the bedroom door. It was dark. The lights were not on. There was no moon tonight. He couldn’t see anything. So he turned on the light.
Dolores was not awakened by the sound of the light coming on.
She walked over to the head of the bed and reached out to touch his forehead. It was still a little warm, probably because she had just taken her medicine a short time ago.
He sat on the edge of the bed and looked at her.
She was emaciated in just a few days. If she knew Joshua was missing, it would be even worse for her.
She pulled out her phone and texted Boyce, asking him to arrange for someone to keep an eye on Benjamin and the woman next to him.
It didn’t matter if she could find him by tomorrow night or not, she would do her best.
