Chapter 876:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Benjamin had always led a life of luxury and privilege, it was the first time he had experienced the things that had happened today. Someone was trying to assassinate him, panic seized him in a moment and he didn’t even know how to respond, so he froze and stood still.
The woman pounced on him and held him in her arms, then put her head on his shoulder and bit his neck hard.
“Ah!” cried Benjamin. When the woman attacked him, she had nothing in her hand. It was the silver fingernails she had painted earlier that made him mistake them for something sharp.
She didn’t have a weapon, but she couldn’t reconcile herself to being abandoned. Even if she was going to die, she wanted Benjamin to die beside her.
“Help!”
Benjamin was shaking her from his body in pain, but her hands were like the tentacles of the octopus that held him tightly and would not let go. Blood was pouring from her mouth and it was shocking.
Boyce pushed the woman away after looking at her for a while.
Benjamin covered his neck, “Go to hell, bitch!”.
He kicked the woman madly as he spoke.
No one took pity on her. Everyone was standing next to them and watching them. When Boyce felt that enough was enough, he asked someone to pull Benjamin away.
“First hold them captive. Now there is enough evidence and we will wait for the Justice Department to try them.” After saying this he left.
Boyce headed to the observation room and Matthew had just left the room, so Boyce trotted over to him, “I’ll fix what’s missing. You won’t be discharged anytime soon and you’ll have to spend a few years inside.”
Matthew emitted a gentle “hmm”.
When Benjamin was caught, he saw Matthew and Boyce and shouted, “You said you’d let me go, didn’t you, why are you going back on your words, you asshole! And Matthew, I’m your uncle, are you going to be treacherous?”
Boyce said coldly, “Take him away quickly.”
Soon, Benjamin’s screams disappeared down the hallway.
Matthew showed no emotion on his face and looked cold. He gave a sidelong glance coolly and turned his eyes away from the address, “Settle the matter thoroughly and don’t leave any evidence.”
It was so as not to cause any unnecessary trouble.
Boyce said, “Sure.”
Matthew walked and left.
They drove to the villa. There was a car stopped in the driveway. He had seen this car before, as it was specially conditioned.
Matthew stopped the car and got out of it, while Charles got out of his car with Tom’s help. When Charles saw Matthew, he nodded graciously and said earnestly, “I just came from White City and heard, I should have come to the funeral.”
Matthew stood still and did not speak.
Charles had no choice: “Are you unhappy to see me?”. Matthew still didn’t speak.
“This is for your son, help me give it to him.” Charles handed him a box that was tightly wrapped, “During the period I stayed in White City, it seemed like a lot of time had passed, a lot of things seemed to have happened here.”
Matthew didn’t take the gift from him, he said coldly, “Has Mr. White finished speaking?”
Charles smiled, “Is his hostility toward me still so strong?”
Matthew did not answer him, turned and walked back toward the villa.
The gift in Charles’ hand was still paused in the air, but he did not awkwardly withdraw it, he looked at Matthew’s back and said, “I’ve already had a wife, why are you so mean?”
Matthew stopped walking in a moment, turned and looked at Charles, “I’d like to ask you a question.”
“Go ahead.” Charles was surprised that the petty man had something to ask him.
“What would you do if someone lusted after your partner?”
Charles said without hesitation, “I’ll torture the person who lusts after my para and then I’ll kick them.”
Matthew scoffed, “I’m having this thought right now.” Charles was speechless.
“You are unkind.” Charles grimaced, he realized he had been tricked, “I came to your house, but you won’t let me in and you won’t serve me a drink either, you’re really stingy.” Matthew ignored him.
Charles laughed at himself, he was doing nothing but making himself uncomfortable, Matthew was always a mean man and had never changed.
However, if he were Charles, wouldn’t he be generous too.
Everything in the world could be shared with others, except love.
He lifted his head and looked up to the second floor, his eyes were dark, then he said gently, “Tom, come on.”
Tom thought he shouldn’t have come here.
“Actually Mrs. White is nice.”
Although Tiana was not very mature, she really liked Charles, her family was also very pleased with Charles and they were never stingy to offer him help.
Tom really couldn’t understand Charles, he was so obsessed with a lady that he had married.
You know you can’t get her, but still you don’t want to give up, aren’t you torturing yourself?
Charles looked at Tom, but in the end said nothing, for he was sure Tiana was nice.
Back at the Meyer Family home, Mrs. Meyer hadn’t seen her daughter for quite some time now, so she was very happy when her daughter and son-in-law returned today.
She had prepared a lot of dishes for dinner, and then continued chatting with Tiana after dinner.
When the older generation talked, it was always about the children, plus Tiana was their only daughter, so she surely wanted to have a grandchild.
Tiana was shy and said she didn’t want to be a mother yet.
It wasn’t because she didn’t want to, but because they had just gotten married and she hadn’t done anything with Charles.
The lady pulled Tiana’s hand and said, “You’re not young anymore, you should hurry up and get pregnant so your father and I don’t have to worry.”
Tiana lowered her head and said nothing.
Madame saw the expression on her face and asked, “Is it that you had a fight with Charles?”.
Tiana immediately shook her head, “We are fine, he treats me well too. I’m tired and I want to go to sleep now.”
She didn’t want to hear her mother’s scolding.
Pushing open the bedroom door, she saw Charles sitting by the window and reading a book in his hand, she approached him and asked, “What are you reading?”.
Charles closed the book, then she saw the name on the cover, it was “Where the Wind Comes From”. Tiana squatted down in front of him and asked, “Is it interesting?”.
“It reassures me.”
Tiana rested her head on his thigh and said, “Then I want to read it too when I’m free.”
She was always quiet and obedient when she stayed with him.
Charles reached out and ran his hand through her hair, took her hand and gently wrapped his arm around her waist, then pulled her up to sit on his thighs. He said gently, “I will treat you well.”
He spoke from the bottom of his heart, the only thing he could not give her was love.
Tiana stayed in his arms quietly and said, “I know.”
She knew he was treating her well, but she also knew that didn’t imply love.
“Have you met with Dolores?” asked Tiana suddenly.
“No.” Charles lowered his gaze to look at her, “How do you know I’d gone out because I wanted to meet her?”
Tiana smiled sweetly, “I’ve stayed with you a long time, so I know what you’re thinking.”
Charles raised his eyebrows, “Is it that I can’t be frank when I stay with you anymore?
Is she getting smarter?
Who said she’s stupid?
“I know, but I won’t be angry, I’ll be by your side quietly,” Tiana whispered.
Charles turned his head and looked at the moon outside.
Meanwhile, in the other place, Jasmine glanced over at Dolores cradling Joshua and gently rocking him in the room. She felt sorry for her, Joshua was frightened now and always had irregular nights of sleep, sometimes crying suddenly.
Just now he had woken up suddenly with a start. When Dolores cradled him, he seemed to have smelled the familiar scent, so he had calmed down again.
Dolores looked at Jasmine, who was standing by the door, and said softly, “Come and sit here, don’t just stand there.”
Jasmine lowered her head and apologized, “It’s my fault…”.
“It has nothing to do with you.” Dolores knew she couldn’t blame Jasmine for this matter, it was someone else who had the bad intention.
“Don’t think too much, you’re pregnant too, it’s not good for your health if you think too much.” Dolores comforted her.
“Jos always cries, shall we take him to the hospital to see the doctor?” asked Jasmine.
“Let’s wait one more day first, we’ll see.” She could feel Joshua lay quietly in her arms, only crying when he slept alone in bed.
Maybe when Joshua was taken away from her, he had gone to a strange place and no one had taken good care of him, so he was scared. Dolores thought he would slowly recover with her care.
Jasmine came over to her to look at Joshua, he was now drowsy and had half closed eyes, “Jos will definitely look very handsome when he grows up.” Dolores glanced at Joshua, her eyes became kinder.
All the mothers thought their children were the cutest.
“If only I could give birth to a daughter,” Jasmine said as she looked at Joshua.
