Chapter 240:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The interior layout was also ideal. The first floor had a spacious living room and reception area, which could be used as a future product showroom and business meeting space.
The second floor had several rooms of varying sizes, perfect for conversion into offices and staff lounges.
And the third floor was a huge attic with a skylight, providing excellent lighting. It was practically tailor-made for a laboratory.
I walked to the third-floor window. From here, I could even see the distant spire of the Contreras estate. This meant it wasn’t far from Demetri; if anything happened, help could arrive quickly.
My fingertips traced the dusty windowsill. I had already made my decision. This was the place.
I turned to Sonny. “What’s the price?”
Sonny’s expression became a little troubled. He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to me.
I saw the number. Even though I was prepared, I couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath. The price was exorbitant, almost all the liquid capital I currently had.
This money was the trust fund I received upon coming of age as a Kramer—a paltry sum given more for appearances than out of support—plus the several “compensations” Demetri had given me. It was the only personal property I had that didn’t belong to the Contreras estate.
Sonny watched me nervously. “I know it’s expensive, much more than the suburban warehouses. I just thought… this is the most suitable place for you. I… I didn’t mean anything else. If you don’t think it’s right, we can—”
I cut him off. “No, you did a great job, Sonny. A very good job.”

I looked at him seriously. “A good broker doesn’t give a client the cheapest option, but the rightest one. Today, you’ve shown me your potential.”
My affirmation made Sonny’s eyes light up. His face flushed with excitement, and he was speechless for a long moment.
I didn’t make the decision to buy right away. I needed to go back and carefully assess my financial situation and think about how to maximize this investment.
“I need to think about it,” I told Sonny. “I’ll give you an answer tomorrow.”
Although I didn’t finalize it on the spot, Sonny was already content. He knew he was just one step away from success.
And I had found the place where my dream would set sail.
Haven Kramer POV
I returned to the estate and sat in my study, my personal account statements spread out before me. The price of the townhouse on Magnolia Street weighed on me like a mountain.
The money was just enough to pay in full. But if I did that, I would have no funds left for subsequent equipment procurement, raw material purchases, and staff recruitment.
I rubbed the bridge of my nose, feeling for the first time the truth in the old saying about a single penny weighing down a hero.
