Chapter 745:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Tell me where my mother is!”
Colten’s face was as cold as steel.
“You never knew what it was like to be loved by a mother. So why does it bother you now?” His lips curled into a cruel smirk. “Then again, no one’s ever cared for you, have they? Craving a mother’s warmth makes sense. Too bad she resented Laurence and passed that onto you. She never once mentioned you before she died.”
Julian’s breathing grew erratic. If his mother had truly cared, she would never have left him.
In just one day, Julian was hit with two brutal truths. Now, he felt completely drained and devastated.
Colten looked at him with the confidence of someone who had already won. Laurence’s time was running out. Colten’s grievances with him ended there.
As for Julian, Colten gave him a rather sympathetic look.

“Thanks for bringing…”
“Kate, back to me. I promise you this: I’ll give her the happy life she deserves.”
Colten’s identity had been exposed, stirring waves of reaction—none louder than within the Nash family itself.
Laurence saw the news report, Colten’s face displayed clearly, and tears streamed down his weathered cheeks.
“She lied to me,” he murmured. “Back then, she said the child had died at the hospital.”
Julian stood nearby, watching as his father broke down over a son he had never known. It was a side of Laurence he had never seen before. His mother had left him behind. His father had never shown true warmth.
In the end, Colten had been the one who truly won.
After some time, Laurence wiped his tears and pulled himself together. Still holding onto a faint thread of hope, he looked over at Julian.
“Julian—”
Julian already knew what was coming and spoke first.
“He won’t accept you as his father.”
It was time to stop clinging to false hopes.
Though Laurence’s heart ached, he stayed grounded. He was well aware his health was fading, and the future of the family rested entirely on Julian, whose influence now carried the most weight.
Besides, what right did he have to ask Colten for anything?
“This is all on me,” he admitted, his voice thick with remorse. “I failed them—your mother and him. And I shouldn’t have forced you to marry Kathy… It’s all my fault.”
Two brothers, drawn to the same woman, and it had driven a wedge between them. He had no one to blame but himself.
Watching his father in that state of sorrow, Julian couldn’t stop himself from sneering.
“If you cared so much about my mom, why did you betray her?”
Laurence lowered his head, weighed down by old memories.
“Back then, we loved each other deeply, completely. But in the pursuit of ambition, I let my guard down. I made a terrible choice. She was never the type to accept betrayal, no matter how much I begged for forgiveness. She walked away, and nothing I did could bring her back.
