Chapter 218:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Allison was stunned. Ryan had been shot in his right arm.
She turned to see Alpha Charles standing with a gun, preparing to fire again. However, Max intervened, kicking Charles’ legs and causing him to fall to his knees. The gun fell to the floor. Allison’s attention shifted back to Ryan, who showed no visible discomfort despite his wound.
She watched Charles as he knelt, clearly enraged. Fury took hold of Allison.
Seeing her partner hurt brought her wolf into a frenzy. Acting on instinct, she charged at Alpha Charles with such speed that he had no chance to react or retrieve the gun.
She bit his right arm, cutting it with savage force. Charles screamed in agony, unable to believe he had lost his arm as blood flowed freely from the wound. Allison glared at him, her anger palpable. No one would hurt her partner and get away with it.
Ryan, approaching her, praised her with a touch of admiration. Her eyes had returned to their dark hue, and she noticed blood seeping through her right sleeve. He stopped beside her and caressed her neck gently with his left hand. Turning to Charles, who was moaning on the ground, Ryan said, “Alpha, believe me, I didn’t want to shoot you.” Charles’ voice was filled with despair.
Ryan replied calmly, “I know you didn’t mean to shoot me, as only a fool would think a bullet could kill me. But since you tried to kill my wife, tell me, how do you want to die? I always give people a choice. I’m not as cruel as others imagine.”
Ryan turned to his officers, who, except for three who remained, had left with Jorge. Owen, the last man in the basement, agreed with Ryan as he finished off the final enemy. Allison was baffled by Ryan’s calm demeanor. He seemed indifferent to his wound.
“Ryan, your arm,” she said through their mental link, her voice trembling with concern. Ryan, however, ignored her concern and raised his arm. Max, understanding the unspoken command, picked up the gun from the floor and handed it to Ryan. Ryan examined the weapon, moving it from side to side.
Charles trembled with fear as Ryan’s eyes glowed with a fiery intensity.
“You underestimated your Luna.
She is far from ordinary. My woman cannot be just any omega.” Ryan’s eyes burned with an inner fire that filled Charles with terror. He raised the gun and shot Charles in the legs, causing him to scream in agony. Then he shot Charles in the left arm.
“Enjoy watching him die. Make sure his body is displayed to the pack as a lesson. No one dares to touch his Luna. If they do, their fate will be the same as his.” Charles’ desperate screams echoed throughout the basement.

“NO, ALPHA! PLEASE KILL ME!” he begged, unable to bear the pain.
Ryan, showing a rare moment of mercy, replied, “Since you were my sub-alpha, I’ll show you a little mercy.” He aimed and shot Charles in the forehead, ending his suffering instantly. Allison gasped as she saw Charles’ eyes remain open, never having had the chance to close them.
Ryan tossed the gun to Vernon and said, “All of you kept telling me about this man. I was so busy with my personal life that I neglected this problem. Now it’s taken care of. I hope you’re satisfied.”
His officers nodded in agreement, visibly relieved. Max reported to Ryan, “The pack doctors are waiting outside. We’ve already made contact with them. They’re here.”
Ryan turned to Allison, lifted her into his arms, and headed for the exit. Vernon commented, “Looks like someone’s deeply in love. He’s not even worried about his arm and he’s carrying her.” The others laughed, and Allison buried her face in Ryan’s chest, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and relief.
“Ryan, your hand. Let go. You’ll only hurt yourself,” Allison said through their mental link. He lowered his head to look at her.
“Then transform. I’ve told Teresa to bring your clothes.
She’s on her way. Just wait a moment.”
“Okay,” Allison replied mentally.
When Teresa arrived, Allison quickly approached her. There were many cars parked in the area.
“Allison, are you okay?” Teresa asked, her voice trembling as she noticed the blood on Allison. Ryan had scolded Teresa for not notifying him before taking Allison out, and Teresa admitted it was her mistake.
Ryan lowered Allison to the ground.
“Give her the clothes.
She’s going to transform,” he instructed Teresa.
She nodded immediately. Ryan turned to Allison and said, “I’m going inside. The doctors are here to treat my wound. No one will bother you. Everyone will be inside. Just let me know when you’re done.”
Since everyone had driven their own cars, there was no driver available. The doctors followed Ryan to the basement with their medical equipment to tend to his wound. Allison quickly transformed again and put on the dress Teresa had brought her.
She hurried back to the basement and saw Ryan shirtless as the doctors worked on his arm, removing the bullet.
She couldn’t take her eyes off him.
When the doctors finished bandaging the wound, they bowed to him. Ryan’s gaze shifted to Allison, who was standing in the doorway, staring intently at him. Ryan walked over to the basement door, and Teresa entered with Max, giving them some privacy. Ryan wrapped his arm around Allison’s shoulders and led her outside.
“Why are you crying, honey?
You were so strong just a few moments ago.“
Allison realized she was crying.
She hugged him across his bare chest and sobbed, ”I can’t stand to see you hurt like that.“ Ryan laughed softly and stroked her hair.
“In most cases, your man won’t get hurt. It doesn’t happen often.
So I promise you won’t have to deal with it too often.”
“I was surprised to see my own she-wolf, Ryan. But I could feel the strength inside me. It’s because of you, isn’t it?”
He shook his head and pulled away from her embrace, cupping her cheeks with his hands.
“It’s because you’re powerful, sweetheart. You have the strength to take on anyone. Do you know why I didn’t stop you from going to war that night?”
She was taken aback by his words. He smiled at her and kissed her on the lips.
She looked away as the others began to emerge from the basement.
“Everyone’s coming out. They’ll see us.”
“So what? Can’t I kiss the woman who’s going to be my wife in a few days?” His words made her eyes sparkle. He caressed her cheeks and said, “Let’s go back to our pack, the Black Moon Pack.”
