Chapter 95:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Allison opened her eyes, tears welling up.
She looked at the man in front of her.
She didn’t know him very well, but somehow she trusted him deeply.
She felt he was someone she could truly rely on. His lips were about to brush hers, but she moved and hugged him instead. Her hands curled around his neck in a tight embrace. He was taken aback by her action.
She sobbed, burying her face in his neck and cried.
“I believe in you. I won’t lie. There’s a part of me that’s terrified to open up and give my heart to you.”
She felt his arms wrap around her waist, drawing her closer.
“I promise I will never hurt your feelings.” She smiled and nodded, not breaking the embrace.
She had no intention of letting go. He caressed her back and kissed her hair.
“You are my baby. Trust me, I will always keep you safe in my arms.”
After a moment of closeness, she pulled away and lowered her head. To get a better look at her face, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Despite the darkness inside the car, he could see her beautiful face clearly. He bent his head to kiss her, but she pressed her hand over his mouth. His deep eyes glanced at her hand, then shifted to her face.
“Good night, Ryan,” she said with a shy smile.
She felt him kiss her palm, and her brows shot up as she removed her hand from his mouth. He moved closer, and she thought he would kiss her lips.
She shut her eyes and waited, but he kissed her forehead instead.
“Good night, Baby.”
She opened her eyes and stared at him. He was different from what she had expected.
She clung to the hope that this behavior was just for her. He reached over to the door beside her and opened it.
She got out and closed the door, giving him a glance and a wave.
“Bye.” He nodded.

“See you in the morning, baby.” She blushed and turned around, running to the front door and unlocking it as quickly as she could.
She gently made her way to her room, relieved that no one had come in to check on her. Everything was the same.
She changed into her pajamas and was about to head to bed but glanced toward the window.
She saw Ryan’s car still outside her house.
‘He didn’t leave yet?’ Then she spotted him driving away. It was clear he was making sure everything was okay.
“He is such a caring person!” She closed the window and rushed to bed.
She thought about what Ryan had said.
She grinned to herself, feeling delighted for the first time in a long while.
The next day, she went to school late. The professor scolded her for being late.
“I am so sorry, Sir.”
“Next time, come on time, Miss Clark.” The professor told her to take her seat. Allison could sense the gazes of the others as she made her way to her seat. During the break, she met Teresa in the cafeteria. Teresa seemed quite happy about Max returning the previous night.
“Do you know? Ryan has returned,” Teresa said to Allison. Allison nodded.
“Yes, I do.”
“How?”
“He came to see me last night.”
“What? When?”
“When everyone at my home was asleep.” Teresa’s jaw dropped.
“And?”
“And what, Tess?”
“What happened after that? Don’t miss any details. I want to know everything.” Allison chuckled and told her about the long drive and how Ryan had confessed to her.
She became emotional as she recounted the moment. Teresa immediately embraced her.
“Aww.
Sweetheart.” Allison and Teresa talked for a long time. Teresa gave her some relationship advice.
“Let me order something,” Teresa said, standing up.
“I’m coming with you.”
“No. I’ll be right back. Tell me what you want to eat.”
“Anything you like, order one for me.”
“Okay, I’m coming then.” Allison pulled out her cell phone. There were no missed calls or messages. ‘Am I waiting for him to call or text me?’ she thought, shaking her head.
Someone tapped on the table, and she looked up to see the person she was thinking about. Ryan was standing in front of her. He bent down, resting his palms on the table, and asked, “May I sit here?” It was difficult for her to tear her gaze away from the dashing young man. His thick eyebrows were masked by the bangs on his forehead.
She noticed he didn’t look cold with his bangs covering his forehead. This hairstyle suited him.
“If you want me to remain in this position for hours waiting for your response, I can do that.” His remarks brought her back from her thoughts.
“Huh?” She mumbled and looked away. Her eyes cast a quick glance around the cafeteria. Everyone was looking at them. Girls frowned at her, and boys were envious.
She was the girl every boy desired in their school.
“S-Sure. You can sit.” She thought he would sit directly opposite her, but he grabbed the chair next to hers, swiveled it around to face her, and sat down. They were sitting very close.
She parted her lips and muttered, “Everyone is looking at us.”
“So? Are you ashamed to be seen with me?” She shook her head.
“No.”
“Then let them see.” She looked into his eyes.
“Will you always be like this with me?” He chuckled at her question.
“I will. But if one day you think of betraying me…” He paused, looking at the table. His fingers played on the surface, and his gaze turned dark.
“I will show you a different side of me.”
