EPILOGUE
THREE MONTHS LATER
Lena’s POV:
In my years on this earth, I’ve learned one thing: blood doesn’t always make family. I mean, Zeo, Freya, and Zoey—we aren’t related by blood, but they are my family.
After Luna Kate came clean about what she did, I thought I would be angry because what happened that night set off a chain of events that led us to where we are today.
But that’s also why I wasn’t mad. Those events made me the woman I am today. They gave me my children, so there’s no way I can be angry about that.
My parents were the Averys—they raised me, they loved me, and that wasn’t going to change. I was a grown woman, and I wasn’t interested in having a relationship with a woman who was too scared to keep me and a father who didn’t tolerate weakness. I didn’t want that energy around my children.
So after they told me the truth, I thanked Luna Kate, because I could finally close that chapter.
It’s been three months since that day, and a lot has happened. It feels like after we got back, things moved at warp speed.
We moved into the Alpha’s house with five of our kids. The kids were excited about the bigger house, which meant more space to play and hide. Zeo and Zoey have their room here, and they spend some nights with us, but their permanent place is at the cabin.
It’s been an adjustment for all of us. I sold my house in the city, and I’m working three days a week. The remaining days, I work out of my lab in the pack, while Emmett holds down the lab back in the city.
Zoey introduced Zeo to her parents, and it was a bit rocky at first, considering their relationship with werewolves. But eventually, Zeo won them over, and they didn’t have much of a choice since Zoey was pregnant. That’s right—my best friend was pregnant with twins.
Freya stayed a month longer with us before she had to go back to New Orleans. Everyone was sad to see her go, but she was needed there. That was where she belonged. Plus, Vincent was there too, even though she still doesn’t want to admit it.

Admitting that she likes him, Freya is just stubborn, like her brother. I give them one more month, and they’ll get together. Freya just needs time, and she’s as stubborn as always.
The kids are acclimating well. Phoebe still gets nightmares sometimes, but they have lessened. The pack has moved on from their mourning period. That’s not to say they’ve forgotten the people who were lost—they’ll always be remembered—but now it’s time to move on to the next phase. We’ve decided to usher in that new phase with our wedding.
That’s right—Leo claimed me months ago and gave me his mark. But with everyone trying to get settled, it’s taken until now for us to get married. Everyone is here today—everyone I love, including Freya and Vincent.
The kids are so excited. The girls are wearing matching black and gold gowns, though Phoebe’s is styled a little differently since she’s older. My boys look very dashing in their suits.
“Are you ready for this?” Zoey asks me, her little baby bump just starting to show. She looks adorable.
“More than you know,” I tell her with a huge grin on my face.
“Alright then, kids, let’s go get your parents married,” she says. The double doors leading into the garden open, and the kids walk out with Zoey behind them. My dad steps forward and takes my hand, a proud smile on his face.
The violin starts playing, and that’s my cue. I take my first step—the first step into forever with the man I love.
