Chapter 252:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Lena’s POV:
“Mama!!!” They scream, and I fall to my knees, hugging all of them. My heart feels at peace.
“We missed you, mama,” Karla tells me.
“I missed you too, baby, so much. You have no idea,” I reply, hugging them so tightly until they start wiggling. Then I let them go to say hi to their dad.
I walk over to my best friend, who looks so relieved to see me. She has tears in her eyes.
“I’m so happy you’re back and okay,” she says, pulling me into a hug.
“Zoey, don’t cry. I’m fine, there’s no need for tears,” I tell her.
“I know, I know, but still… those bastards that hurt you are lucky I wasn’t there,” she says, and I smile.
“It’s okay. Zeo and Leo took care of them,” I tell her as I pull back from the hug.
“That’s good. I told them not to come back to this house without you,” she replies.
“It’s alright, Zoey. I’m good, I promise. Now, why don’t you go say hello to your man? He wanted to get here so fast that he drove like the hounds of hell were on his tail,” I tell her. She laughs and then runs over to him. He catches her in a hug and spins her around.
I look out at my family, all the people I love in one place. It’s been a long and hard road getting here, but we did it. We’re finally all together.
We just had lunch. Zoey cooked up a whole spread, and between all of us, we didn’t even get halfway through it.
The kids are in the living room watching cartoons, and Leo left a few minutes ago to answer a call. But as he walks back into the house, his expression isn’t good, so I immediately get up and go to him.
“Leo, what is it?” I ask him.

“It’s Scarlett’s parents. They’re here.”
“Why? I thought they picked up Scarlett weeks ago?” I ask him.
“Yeah, they did,” he replies.
“So, what are they doing here?” I ask again.
“They’re here to see you,” he says, and I’m confused.
“What do you mean they’re here to see me? I don’t know those people,” I tell him.
“That’s what I told them, but they’re already at the house, and they were pretty insistent,” he explains.
The fuck? What the hell do Scarlett’s parents want with me?
“I think you should go see them, hear what they have to say,” Freya says as she walks up to us.
“What? Do you know why they’re here?” I ask her.
“I think so. You should go, Lena,” she tells me. After everything I’ve been through with Freya, I trust her completely.
“Okay then, let’s go.”
Leo drives us to his house. When we get there, he takes my hand, and we walk into the living room where Scarlett’s parents are waiting for us.
“Alpha Logan, Luna Kate, I’m sorry for keeping you guys waiting,” Leo apologizes as we walk into the room.
“This is my mate, Doctor Lena Everhart. If I may ask, why did you want to see her?” Leo asks, but they don’t reply. They both just stare at me like they’re looking at a ghost.
“Yeah, I know, I bear a very striking resemblance to your daughter,” I say, and then Luna Kate puts her hand over her mouth and sobs.
What the hell? Was it something I said?
“Please forgive my wife’s outburst. Both of you, have a seat, and we’ll explain everything,” Alpha Logan tells us.
“May I see your left hand?” Luna Kate asks. It’s a weird request, but I show her my hand anyway.
She turns the back of my hand, and she gasps. “It’s her, she’s the one,” she says, and I quickly pull my hand back.
“Please, can someone explain what’s happening here?” Leo asks, and I can hear the impatience in his voice.
Luna Kate then proceeds to tell us the story of the day she gave birth and how she switched her baby because she was scared her husband would kill her and the baby, since her baby girl was an omega. But before she switched the babies, she gave her child a mark on the back of her hand—the same mark that I have.
