Chapter 1253:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Mekhi stopped swinging the broom so he wouldn’t hit his beloved daughter. Instead, he shouted at her, “Flossie! Are you out of your mind? You’ve known this bastard since middle school. Haven’t you figured out he’s a punk? He was in a relationship with Cara in high school. How could you still be in love with him? He kissed you but refused to admit it. Have you forgotten that?”
Levy was stunned hearing all this said about him.
At this point, Yvonne rushed in to calm Mekhi down while simultaneously signaling to Flossie.
Flossie promptly grabbed Levy’s hand and pulled him away as quickly as she could.
“You’ve seen how angry my father is with you. You need to leave now!” she urged anxiously.
“I kissed you the night I broke up with Cara, didn’t I?” Levy asked. He had never been sure because he had been drunk at the time. When the memories first surfaced, he thought they were just illusions caused by his obsession with Flossie.
“Does it matter now?” Flossie scoffed. She was much more rational than her parents, apparently. “It’s meaningless to discuss that now, Levy.”
“When did your parents find out about me?” Levy asked. From what Mekhi had just said, he could tell the family had a very bad impression of him.
“When I was a freshman in high school,” Flossie answered reluctantly. “I was absent-minded in class for a period of time. My teacher was a student of my…”
Her parents, so she told them about me and you. Later, my mother came to the school and saw you.”
When Flossie was young, her eyes had always followed Levy. As a careful mother, Yvonne naturally noticed this, but because she was open-minded she didn’t interfere. She and her husband only reminded Flossie that at this stage of her life she needed to focus more on her studies.

Levy gritted his teeth as he listened. For the first time, he regretted being a jerk in his youth; he wanted to slap himself.
“Flossie!” Mekhi suddenly called from inside the house, his anger clear in his voice.
“Levy, as you can see, we can no longer be together,” Flossie said.
Her parents would never allow them to be together again. Besides, Flossie herself was tired of the relationship.
As she walked back into the house, she flashed Levy a goodbye smile. The smile hit him like a bullet to the heart; the pain was so sharp he felt as if he might suffocate.
Of all his past relationships, only Cara had been someone he took seriously. When Cara broke up with him, he felt helpless and frustrated, but he accepted it. He could not accept Flossie’s decision now.
He longed to build a beautiful cage and lock her inside so she could not escape him, keeping her bound to him for the rest of time.
