Chapter 995:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The doors of the SUVs swung open, and six men dressed in black suits stepped out in unison. The Davis family’s bodyguards immediately recognized the young man leading them, and their expressions shifted at once. They quickly climbed out of the van and greeted him respectfully. “Mr. Knight.”
Mike wore a polished smile, every bit the refined gentleman on the surface. Anyone unfamiliar with him would have easily mistaken him for a courteous young man. “I heard Jonah ran into a little trouble,” Mike said smoothly. “As his soon-to-be son-in-law, it’s only right that I help handle it.”
The bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances. “But… Mr. Davis ordered us to personally make sure this man boards a flight overseas and never returns to Zhatwell.”
“Relax.” Mike stepped forward and casually patted one of them on the shoulder, his tone calm and reassuring. “I’ll take care of everything personally for Jonah. Just go back and tell him the matter’s settled.”
The bodyguards looked at one another again. Everyone knew the Knight and Davis families were about to become relatives through marriage. And everyone also knew one thing very clearly: Mike was not someone they could afford to offend. Besides, if someone else was willing to handle the dirty work, that suited them just fine.
“Understood. Since you’ve stepped in, we’ll act like we never saw anything today.”
With that, the men opened the van door and roughly tossed the tightly bound Kole onto the ground at Mike’s feet.

Kole landed heavily on the cold pavement. At last, he got a proper look at Mike’s face. This was the man who had ruined Carole through despicable means. Rage exploded in Kole’s eyes. He twisted violently against the coarse ropes around his wrists, fighting desperately to break free. If he could loosen them even a little, he would throw himself at this bastard and crush his throat with his bare hands.
Mike looked down at him with open contempt, the corner of his lips curling upward. “Take him away.”
Two men in black immediately stepped forward and shoved Kole into the trunk.
Half an hour later, Kole was dragged onto a yacht. The cold sea wind cut through the air like blades as the yacht sped away from the harbor, heading deeper into the endless darkness of the ocean.
Forced onto his knees on the deck by two bodyguards, Kole lifted his head and glared at Mike, who sat leisurely on an expensive sofa nearby. His teeth clenched tightly. “What exactly are you trying to do?” he demanded angrily.
Mike lazily swirled the red wine in his glass. “I heard you and Carole were childhood sweethearts?”
Kole’s expression darkened instantly. “Shut your mouth! You’re not worthy of saying her name!”
The smile on Mike’s face faded little by little, replaced by cold hostility. “I’m not worthy? And you are? You’re nothing but a servant’s son, yet you dare speak to me that way?”
His eyes turned sharp as knives. “Guards, teach him what happens when people forget their place.”
Several bodyguards rushed forward at once, fists and boots raining down on Kole without mercy. The beating only stopped after Kole was left drenched in blood, his swollen eyes barely able to open.
