Chapter 994:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Her gaze flickered briefly toward Kole lying on the ground. She bit her lip so hard it started to bleed. “I promise I will never see him again,” she added quietly. “From now on, I’ll do exactly what you say.”
Jonah stared at her without speaking. The two of them faced each other in silence, neither willing to back down, the tension stretching on for what felt like an eternity.
At last, Jonah exhaled sharply and lowered his hand. “Let him go.”
The bodyguards immediately stepped away from Kole.

Jonah turned his back on them, unwilling to look at the scene any longer, and spoke in a cold, final tone. “Since you’ve made your choice, I’ll spare his life. I’ll give him some money and have him sent overseas right away.”
He motioned for Bria to take Carole away.
“But if he ever dares to come back to Zhatwell,” Jonah added without turning around, “I won’t be so merciful next time. Is that clear?”
Kole’s wrists and ankles were tied tightly with rough hemp rope. His once-striking face was bruised beyond recognition, one eye swollen shut from the beating he had taken.
Even so, he struggled to raise his head, shaking it desperately. “Please… don’t agree to this…”
Carole slowly closed her eyes and let Bria take the broken shard from her trembling hand. Just before they dragged her out of the greenhouse, she turned around one last time. Her gaze lingered on him, deep and painfully final. “Kole, forget me,” she said softly. “I’ll forget you too. I’m going to marry into the Knight family. I’ll have wealth, status, everything people dream of… so you must never come back to Zhatwell again.”
Kole was pinned helplessly against the ground, forced to watch her figure disappear farther and farther away. No matter how hoarse his screams became, she never looked back.
Not long after, several bodyguards hauled him out of the greenhouse and shoved him into a van like discarded baggage. Through the narrow window, he watched the Davis family’s villa slowly vanish from sight.
“Please… just let me speak to Mr. Davis one more time…” Kole continued pleading with the men inside the vehicle. But no matter how low he lowered himself, not a single person responded.
Realizing his begging meant nothing, Kole forced himself to calm down. If he resisted now, he would only get himself killed, and worse, he might drag Carole into even deeper trouble. For the moment, pretending to cooperate was his only option. He needed to know where they were taking him.
No matter how far they sent him, no matter what forgotten corner of the world they abandoned him in, as long as he was still breathing, he would find a way back to Zhatwell. He knew the truth: Carole never wanted to marry into the Knight family. She was sacrificing herself to keep him alive. And one day, he would come back for her.
Suddenly, the van screeched to a violent stop. The force hurled Kole hard against the metal wall inside the vehicle. He lifted his head sharply and saw two black Range Rovers blocking the road ahead. The van had nowhere to go.
