Ava’s eyes widened as she mumbled to herself, “What is he doing here? He can’t shift right now, but still, he came to join the war? Has he lost his mind?”

She attempted to bite a witch’s leg and growled at her. What she didn’t realize was that another wolf was charging in her direction, ready to attack.

When she turned her head, it was too late to move.

Freya’s wolf tensed as she shut her eyes, bracing herself. But then, another wolf leaped over them and bit the attacking wolf’s neck, knocking him to the ground.

Freya was shocked when she recognized Dane’s wolf. Her eyes blurred as she stared at him.

She looked at Dane, who was disappearing among the enemies. She shouted through their mate link, “If you don’t love me, then why did you even save me? You should have let me be killed.”
