Lucas was still holding Belinda’s hand tightly. He lowered his eyes to look at her briefly before turning back to the Happer family members with a solemn expression. “Don’t worry; I will treat Belinda well for the rest of my life. I’ll cherish her more than my own life.”

“We believe you.”

Belinda turned to look at Lucas, her eyes filled with a gentle smile. “I believe you, too.”

Looking at the woman he loved the most, Lucas felt his heart swell with emotion.

More times than he could count, he had thanked fate for bringing her back to him.

And more than once, he had felt grateful that the two of them still had a future together.

As he looked at her, he silently thought that no matter how long this lifetime might be, he would only love her more with each passing day.
