Chapter 539:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Back when Carl caused a scandal, Clinton had not shielded him either. For the sake of the group’s interests, he had decisively cut ties with his own grandson.
Even now, Carl was still recovering in the hospital, yet it was only a matter of time before he would be sent abroad. That was Clinton’s ruthlessness.
“Father, I intend to remove Hayley from all her positions within the group. What are your thoughts?”
“The group’s interests must come first. Handle it as you see fit, Harold. I’m tired and do not wish to interfere further.”

With that one indifferent sentence, Hayley’s fate was sealed.
Closing her eyes briefly, Hayley showed no visible change in emotion. Then, slowly rising to her feet, she placed both hands on the table and spoke toward the phone.
“Grandfather, you understand what truly happened at the banquet better than anyone. And now, you are really going to remove me over two livestreams?”
“Hayley, I know you have been wronged. However, public opinion online is extremely unfavorable to you right now. For the sake of the group, step down temporarily. Once this storm passes, I will give you a proper explanation.”
On the surface, his words sounded fair and reasonable.
Letting out a cold laugh, Hayley straightened her posture. The air around her shifted, giving her the presence of a resolute queen rather than someone defeated. “Fine. If that is your decision, then I have nothing more to say.”
Her voice turned icy. “But… let me remind you of one thing. Some decisions, once made, cannot be undone. And I believe you understand exactly what I mean.”
Clinton fell quiet for a brief moment, and then he ended the call without giving any reply.
“Hayley, in my capacity as CEO, I’m removing you from all your positions within the company.” Lifting his chin slightly, Harold spoke with clear authority, and a trace of excitement showed in his eyes. “Leave the conference room at once. No, leave Morgan Group entirely.”
A faint smile formed on Hayley’s lips as she faced Harold’s smug expression.
Anger never surfaced in her eyes. Instead, she found the situation almost entertaining, as if she were watching a child throw a tantrum after being denied something.
“Hayley,” Kirby called out, his voice filled with concern as he looked at her from his wheelchair.
With a small shake of her head, Hayley reassured him without a word. Her calm presence caught everyone off guard.
Many had expected Hayley to lose her temper after being forced out. Instead, she sat there, completely unbothered.
A crease formed between Brent’s brows as unease settled in. The situation was no longer in his favor or his son’s.
Their return to the company had largely depended on Hayley’s efforts, and now that she was leaving, they would likely struggle to keep Harold in check.
Noticing the concern in Brent’s expression, Hayley reached out and lightly tapped Kirby’s shoulder. “There’s no need to worry. Even if I leave, the two projects under my control will still serve as your advantage.”
A look of shock filled Kirby’s eyes as he stared at Hayley.
