Chapter 559:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Yes.” Emmalyn’s expression was firm. “At the time, Letitia was pronounced dead. The resuscitation failed. But later, our people discovered the doctors had made a mistake, that she was still alive. To make amends, we had her transferred to a private clinic where she’s been receiving the best care. We wanted to wait until she recovered to give you a wonderful surprise. But with things as they are, we have no choice but to ask for your help to put that demon Hayley away for good.”
Rowan’s eyes grew red as he suddenly grasped Emmalyn’s hands. “Miss Morgan, thank you! You’ve given me a reason to live again. I never thought I’d see my sister again.”
“Rowan, this is a debt the Morgan family owes you.” Emmalyn offered a faint smile, but as her gaze fell to where his hands gripped hers, she had to fight back a wave of revulsion. How dare someone of his class touch her? The thought of his skin against hers was nauseating.
Still, she maintained her gracious smile, no matter how much contempt she felt.
“By the way, Rowan,” she said, smoothly changing the subject, “have you memorized the statement we prepared?”
“Yes,” he replied. “I just have to insist that Hayley committed intentional murder, that it wasn’t a simple car accident. That will be enough to send her back to prison, right?”

“Yes, that’s right,” Emmalyn confirmed.
“But…” Rowan frowned, adding cautiously, “could I see my sister? Just once? It’s just… everything I know about her being alive has come from you. And…”
Emmalyn’s brow furrowed. Was he doubting her? He was more cautious than she’d given him credit for, not the blindly trusting fool she’d assumed. But it was a normal reaction. It made sense. In fact, if he hadn’t asked, she might have worried that Hayley had already gotten to him.
“Alright. I’ll show you now.”
Emmalyn took out her phone and started a video call. It connected almost instantly. The screen showed a figure lying motionless in a hospital bed, hooked up to a ventilator.
“Letitia! It’s really you!”
Tears streamed down Rowan’s face, but behind the performance of joy, his eyes held a chilling, deep-seated resentment.
“There. You’ve seen her,” Emmalyn said, pulling the phone back. “Are you at ease now?”
“Yes.” Rowan wiped his eyes and nodded firmly. “Tomorrow, we’ll send that demon to hell together.”
As his eyes met hers, a chill went down Emmalyn’s spine. The raw hatred in his gaze was genuinely unsettling.
But she quickly brushed the feeling aside. He’d just learned his sister hadn’t died but was instead trapped in a vegetative state. Of course his hatred would only intensify. It made perfect sense.
At the Pioneer Group’s tech department, the entire team scrambled into action.
Hayley took the lead, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she swiftly locked onto the faint signal.
“Found it!”
Her eyes lit up with a cold smirk. “Emely, tell everyone to start a full sweep of the eastern district, sector by sector. I want Letitia’s location pinned down by morning.”
“On it!”
Emely turned to the assembled technicians and gave an even sharper command. “Ms. Morgan just locked down a general area from that intercepted signal. You have one hour to find the precise location.”
