Chapter 568:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Kaden opened his mouth, an instinctive denial on the tip of his tongue. He wanted to ask her to be his real wife. But the delicate, tense state of their relationship stopped him. Pushing too hard now might scare her off for good.
“Why not?” he finally forced out, the words stiff and resigned, masking the turmoil in his eyes. “Our situations are similar. We’ve both been betrayed by our own blood. My break with the Evans family, your split from the Morgans, with what you’re facing now, I can offer my support.” Kaden clenched his fist briefly before extending his hand toward Hayley.
“You need me,” he said, his voice lacking conviction. After the display of power she’d just shown, it seemed she didn’t need to lean on anyone. Or rather, it was he who needed her.
He couldn’t pinpoint when, but this woman had worked her way deep into his heart. He had tried to deny the feeling, to let reason win over emotion. But with each stunning counterattack, Hayley had systematically dismantled his defenses and shattered his principles. By now, the feeling was impossible to ignore.
The tragic irony was that just as he finally understood his own heart, he realized the rules he’d set for himself had become a cage. He couldn’t even manage a simple confession.

“Are you sure, Mr. Evans?” Hayley narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing his evasive gaze.
He felt a flush of guilt under her intense scrutiny and found he couldn’t meet those eyes that seemed to see right through him. His strange behavior genuinely baffled Hayley.
“HAYLEY!!!”
A furious roar shattered the tense atmosphere between them.
An annoyed Kaden turned to see Harold and Emmalyn storming out of the house, followed closely by the two elders, their faces like thunderclouds.
“Yes?”
Hayley stood with her arms crossed, a mocking smile on her lips as she watched their impotent fury.
“On what grounds are you throwing us out?! This is my property, bought and paid for! No one has the right to remove me!” Harold bellowed.
“Oh?” Hayley raised an eyebrow and casually extended her hand. “Then show me the deed. Let’s see if your name is actually on it.”
The words landed like a slap. All the color drained from Harold’s face. It hit him then: Carole, that fool, had already signed the deed to the villa over to Hayley. Legally, they had no ground to stand on. Hayley had every right to throw them out.
“What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?” Hayley let out a cold laugh, her eyes gleaming with mockery. “That’s fine. I have the paperwork. As the lawful owner of this property, don’t I have the right to remove trespassers from my home?” Her voice turned to ice. “Or should I call the police? Would that finally get you out of my house?”
“Hayley, must you take it this far?” Clinton drew a deep, pained breath.
