Chapter 1112:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Vera stared at her phone, unable to believe what had just happened, convinced it had to be a temporary system glitch. She decided that once the registration finished, she would immediately dismiss that staff member who refused to follow her orders.
At that moment, Colden’s most trusted subordinate—the one sent to manage the equity registration—came rushing back. His complexion was pale, and he pushed through the crowd in a panic, making his way to the stage to whisper urgently in Vera’s ear.
Vera spun around, glaring furiously at him, her voice cracking with disbelief. “What did you just say? Repeat that!”
The subordinate, visibly shaken, said in a trembling voice, “Ms. Oliver, the equity transfer can’t be processed!”
“Ridiculous! Everything’s in black and white, and Vincent signed the agreement! How could it not go through?” Vera screamed in frustration.
The subordinate looked like he might break down. “The records show Mr. Jones doesn’t actually own any shares in Jones Group right now! There’s nothing for him to transfer. The agreement means nothing!”
Gasps and shocked murmurs swept through the banquet hall. Vincent didn’t have any stake in Jones Group? How could that be possible?

Vera stumbled backward, turning her head slowly, her eyes burning as her gaze shifted to the seat beside her. But Vincent was no longer sitting there.
She scanned the crowd, finally spotting Vincent next to Hannah.
The two stood together. Vincent looked utterly detached, while Hannah regarded the chaos on stage with serene calm.
A dreadful suspicion crept into Vera’s mind. Could the chip have failed? Every act of obedience, every signature earlier—had it all been an act? Had Vincent been playing her this whole time?
“You…” Vera’s voice was raw, her hand trembling as she pointed accusingly at Vincent. “You’re not under the chip’s control anymore? Have you just been putting on an act in front of me? Was everything a performance to fool me?”
Vincent lifted his gaze, his eyes as deep and unreadable as ever, showing only icy disinterest. He stayed silent, but the answer was unmistakable in his expression.
Whatever hope Vera clung to vanished in an instant. She whirled on Hannah, shrieking wildly, “What about the shares? What did you do to the equity transfer? Why doesn’t he own anything? Tell me, Hannah! What did you do?”
With her eyes locked on Vera, Hannah took a quiet step forward. Her words landed with brutal force on Vera’s already shattered nerves. “Once Vincent and I realized you were plotting to seize Jones Group’s shares, he went ahead and legally transferred every share to me.”
Her tone was calm yet merciless. “So the agreement you forced him to sign earlier means nothing at all. If you’re wondering why he played along and put his signature down, he was simply making a fool of you.”
Vera’s vision swam, and a ringing filled her ears. She nearly collapsed, kept upright only by Colden’s quick reflexes. But her eyes—no longer gleaming with victory—burned with a wild, desperate fixation on Vincent and Hannah.
“This isn’t possible! You’re lying!” Vera tore away from Colden’s arms, screaming uncontrollably. She refused to accept that Vincent would have transferred all his shares to Hannah.
