Chapter 1120:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The machine hummed to life as Xander focused, typing a series of command codes into the intricate control panel.
After a while, the process finished. Vincent’s long eyelashes fluttered before he opened his eyes slowly. His gaze was a little unfocused at first, but clarity returned quickly. Rather than rising right away, he remained still, as if quietly listening for some inner signal of confirmation.
Xander studied him closely. “Do you feel any side effects? Nausea? Lightheadedness?”
Vincent sat up in the chair and shook his head. “None at all. This time, I don’t feel any discomfort. Honestly, I feel incredibly calm.”
Only after confirming that everything was stable did Xander allow himself to relax. His voice turned thoughtful as he explained, “Maybe this time, the instruction matches your deepest feelings. The chip isn’t making you do anything against your will; it’s just adding a layer of protection around your emotions. But, Mr. Jones, please remember this is still artificial. Real love needs effort and care.”
“I know,” Vincent replied. He stood and met Xander’s eyes. “Thank you, Dr. Ward. Someone will contact you about the payment and to handle the confidentiality agreement soon.”
Xander gave a nod.
Vincent said nothing else and left the room.
As Xander watched Vincent walk away, he didn’t feel any sense of relief. He slipped off his glasses and rubbed his forehead.

From the adjoining observation room, the assistant walked over, wide-eyed. “Dr. Ward… I never thought your biochip would end up being used like this.”
A bitter smile crossed Xander’s face as he slid his glasses back on. “Technology is just a tool; its purpose depends on how it’s used. As long as it’s not turned toward evil, maybe using it to protect a relationship isn’t the worst thing.”
But his expression quickly darkened, and his voice grew firm. “Still, this kind of chip cannot be allowed to spread further. We need to find a safe and effective way to remove the chip soon. If more people like Brixton ever get hold of this technology, the results could be catastrophic.”
At the mention of Brixton, a wave of pain and regret flickered in Xander’s eyes. The son in whom he had invested so much effort and hope—hoping to guide him onto the right path—had ultimately gone astray, even exploiting his invention for profit.
“Still nothing from Brixton?” Xander asked, his voice unsteady.
The assistant’s face grew serious as he shook his head. “We’ve tried every secure channel we know, but there’s no response. His shell companies keep shifting, almost as if he’s getting ready to disappear or launch something big. Vulture’s crew has gone silent too, which is very unusual.”
A heavy feeling settled in Xander’s chest. This was exactly the scenario he dreaded. Brixton was like a shadow looming over them all, a threat hiding in the dark, and no one could predict when—or against whom—he might unleash this dangerous technology next.
