Chapter 481:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Darya’s head was spinning as she tried to make sense of the situation. The appearance of Micah had disrupted the newfound ease she felt with Thomas, and she couldn’t help but feel a sense of awkwardness.
After all, Thomas was the cousin of her ex-husband.
“Why are you hanging around Darya?” Micah slid into the seat next to Thomas, his presence commanding attention.
Thomas, not one to shy away from the truth, explained the situation. “I wanted to have some fun in the Enigma Chamber, and coincidentally, I ran into Darya, so we played together.”
Timothy, who had always held a grudge against Micah, wasted no time in expressing his displeasure. “Micah, can’t you take a hint? Darya clearly didn’t want you to join us, did she?”
Ignoring Timothy’s remark, Micah fixed his gaze on Darya, waiting for her response.
Darya, visibly irritated by Micah’s intrusion, furrowed her brow. “Don’t you have a business dinner to attend to? Isn’t that why you are here?”
“Business can always wait,” Micah replied, leaving Darya momentarily speechless.
Giving up his business commitments just to have dinner with her?
“Anyway, the appointment is with Reece. He’ll understand if I have to cancel.”
Micah’s words nearly caused Darya to choke on her water.
Poor Reece, caught in the crossfire.
Sensing the tension, Micah hesitated for a moment before politely asking, “So, can I join you guys for dinner?” All eyes turned to Darya, awaiting her decision.
Taking a deep breath, Darya finally decided to put an end to Micah’s attempts to win her back. “I don’t want to have dinner with you.” The atmosphere plummeted, and Micah seemed slightly uncomfortable, a flicker of pain crossing his eyes.
Timothy couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Micah’s stubbornness. “Darya already said she doesn’t want to eat with you. Why haven’t you left yet?”

Micah, undeterred by Darya’s rejection, shifted his gaze toward Thomas and inquired, “Then why can he dine with you? Are you two close?”
“I just became friends,” Thomas replied smoothly. “Mr. Cavanaugh won’t interfere with my social life, will you? What right do you have?”
Darya detested Micah’s baseless jealousy and his tendency to direct his anger at innocent people.
“Um, Micah, please don’t be upset. We just happened to run into each other. This wasn’t planned,” Thomas interjected, attempting to defuse the tension. “If you’re uncomfortable with me having dinner with her, I’ll go back and keep the old man company.”
