Chapter 1951:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
In the early hours before dawn, a sudden knock came at the door. Startled, she wondered who would come at such an hour. She turned toward the door with caution. The next moment, it opened, and Milford rushed in, clutching a small vial. His face was lit with uncontrollable excitement.
“Stella, we made it! The antidote is ready!”
She stared at him, stunned, her mind struggling to process his words. For a moment, she thought she was imagining things from sheer exhaustion. “Milford, what did you just say?”
Without hesitation, Milford placed the vial into her hands. The liquid inside was clear and plain, no different from ordinary water. Nothing about it hinted at its significance.
But Milford’s voice trembled with barely contained joy. “We finally overcame the hardest part. The antidote has passed all tests. It’s safe for human use. Have the nurse give it to William through an IV immediately.”
Administering it directly into his bloodstream would allow the medicine to begin working as quickly as possible.
Stella’s hands shook as she held the vial. Tears filled her eyes and ran down her cheeks.
“This is amazing… truly amazing. So miracles really do happen.”
A nurse came over quickly and carefully administered the antidote into William’s veins. Everyone in the room fell silent, their attention locked on the monitor.

One minute passed. Then two. Then five.
Suddenly, the heart rate displayed on the screen started to change. The previously erratic lines slowly steadied, and his blood pressure began to climb.
The doctor looked at Stella and Milford in amazement. “This is incredible. It’s already working!”
Clutching William’s hand, Stella broke down in tears. “William, can you hear me? The antidote is in your body now. You’re getting better. Please… I’m begging you… wake up.”
By evening, William’s eyelashes trembled faintly.
Stella caught the subtle movement at once. Her entire body stiffened as she leaned closer, watching him without blinking.
Slowly, his eyes opened. At first, his gaze wandered, unfocused, as though he had no idea where he was. But after a few seconds, his eyes found Stella at his side.
“Stell… it’s you.”
Stella instantly wrapped him in a tight embrace. “It’s me. It’s always been me. I told you I would never leave you!”
After three days, William’s condition stabilized. Most of the toxins had been cleared from his system. The rest only needed time to clear.
Milford watched as Stella carefully cut up some fruit for William. In a gentle voice, he said, “As long as he gets proper rest, a full recovery won’t be difficult. For now, he just needs to avoid strain and focus on recuperating.”
William looked at him with deep gratitude. “Thank you, Milford.”
That small vial of antidote had truly dragged him back from the brink of death. In fact, that night, he had a long, vivid dream filled with fragments of his entire life. Thinking back on it now, he realized it must have been his final moments, like his life flashing before his eyes. But just before it all came to an end, a bright white light appeared. And then… he woke up to find Stella by his side. Even now, it all felt unreal, like something out of a dream.
