Chapter 1057:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Andrew shoved her away, his entire body going rigid. “I know it was you who drugged me that night,” he said, his voice cutting. “I never exposed you because I wanted you to end the pregnancy. I thought that made us even. But clearly, you’re too ungrateful to see it that way.”
Kyla went still, stunned. He knew? But she wasn’t afraid — she still had the baby to use against him.
She began to cry. “I love you too much. That’s why I did it.”
Fury churned through Andrew. Whatever regard he’d once had for Kestrel had been replaced entirely by disgust.
He turned to Yosef. “Call the obstetrician at Olekgan Hospital and book an appointment. Tomorrow, we’re bringing her in to end the pregnancy.”
“Understood,” Yosef replied.
Kyla pressed her lip together, a soft sob escaping her.
When they reached Azure Vista, Andrew turned to her. “Tomorrow I’ll come pick you up for the procedure.”
Kyla lifted her red, tear-soaked eyes to his. “Mr. Brooks — could you stay with me tonight? Just this once. One last time.”
“You need to stop ignoring the truth. I don’t love you at all — Cathryn is the only one I care about.” Andrew fixed Kyla with a stare as cold as ice.

Kyla bit her lip so hard it nearly bled. She buried her face in her hands and scrambled out of the car.
“Mr. Brooks, where would you like to go now?” Yosef asked from the driver’s seat.
Andrew looked over at the house where he lived with Cathryn. The soft glow of the lights inside loosened something in his expression. “I’ll stay here tonight. Come back for me tomorrow morning.”
“Understood,” Yosef replied.
Andrew stepped out of the car and walked up to knock on Cathryn’s door. Now that he had calmed down, he could see that sulking and staying away had been childish. He was here to apologize, and he felt certain she would forgive him. After all, Cathryn bore some fault in this too. Most wives would despise a mistress and an illegitimate child — yet Cathryn was actually fighting to give the child a place in their home. He wanted to talk it through with her. He didn’t want conflict. He only wanted to be with her.
Margaret’s voice came through the closed door. “Who’s there?”
“It’s me. Andrew,” he replied.
“Mrs. Brooks,” Margaret called into the house, “your husband is here.”
Cathryn walked over but left the door locked. “What are you doing here?” she asked from the other side.
“I just came to spend time with you,” Andrew said.
A cold, bitter smile crossed Cathryn’s face. Andrew had just brought Kyla to Brooks Manor, and now he was turning up here to be with her. He was certainly keeping himself busy running between the two of them.
“I don’t want you here,” Cathryn replied. “You should go be with Kyla. She’s carrying your baby.”
Andrew’s eyes darkened. “Is that really what you want? For me to be with Kyla?”
If she still loved him, she wouldn’t be pushing him toward another woman. If their positions were reversed, he could never stomach the thought of sending Cathryn into someone else’s arms.
