Chapter 1056:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Beneath the weight of those condemning gazes, the color drained from Kyla’s face. She had already been nervous about entering the manor, though Andrew’s presence had offered her a thin thread of reassurance. Now, with the entire household united against her and Andrew offering no defense, she could no longer hold herself together.
Amanda’s voice rang out through the room as she addressed the guards and staff. “Cathryn is the only Mrs. Brooks. Any disgraceful woman who dares appear here will be thrown out!”
“Understood,” everyone answered in unison.
Kyla’s cheeks burned scarlet, tears brimming in her eyes.
Andrew stood with his hands buried in his pockets, unmoved. “There’s no need to get upset, Grandma. We’ll leave.” He turned and strode out, and Kyla hurried after him.
Amanda watched them go, her body trembling, before she finally sank onto the sofa.
“Mandy!” Wade rushed forward to steady her.
Amanda’s hand shook as she pointed toward Andrew’s retreating figure. “That boy is going to be the death of me!”
Wade shook his head, puzzled. “Didn’t Damien say he didn’t even want the child? Then why is he bringing Kyla home?”

Amanda ground her teeth. “He’s completely besotted with her.”
Wade let out a heavy sigh.
Amanda quickly added, “Cathryn must not find out about this. Her marriage to Damien is already on the verge of breaking.”
Wade nodded in agreement.
What neither of them knew was that Cathryn had already collapsed after Andrew’s provocation and was now lying in a hospital bed.
As consciousness slowly returned to her, she looked over at Margaret. “What happened to me?”
“They drew some blood, but the results haven’t come back yet,” Margaret said. “You’ve likely been exhausted. That’s probably why you fainted.”
Cathryn’s test results reached Cara first. The moment she saw them, she let out a sharp cry. “Cathryn is pregnant!”
Jordyn froze, then blurted, “Cathryn was basically supposed to be infertile. How is she pregnant?”
Cara snapped, her thoughts spiraling. “How would I know?”
Jordyn’s brow furrowed. “If Cathryn’s pregnant, everything between her and Andrew is back on solid ground. How are we supposed to drive them apart now?”
Cara ground her teeth. “We can’t let her keep the baby.”
Shortly after, Margaret received Cathryn’s blood report. Everything looked normal. Once her IV drip was finished, Cathryn returned to Azure Vista.
Outside Brooks Manor, Kyla followed Andrew to the car and slid into the seat beside him.
“Mr. Brooks, where are we going?” she asked timidly.
Andrew sat straight, his voice cold and remote. “You heard her. She threw me out. And you still want to follow me?”
Kyla leaned slightly closer, catching the clean, woody scent that clung to him, her heart hammering. “I care about you, Mr. Brooks. Wherever you go, I’ll go with you.”
Andrew studied her, and the edge of his contempt softened just a fraction. He had assumed she wanted nothing more than his money and the status his name could offer. Yet even after being driven out of Brooks Manor, she showed no resentment.
Sensing the chill in his eyes ease slightly, Kyla gathered her courage, rested her head against his shoulder, and whispered, “Mr. Brooks.”
