Chapter 1210:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
After a brief hesitation, Kimberly shook her head. “Nothing. You seem to have a lot on your plate.”
“It’s not that bad.” From her expression, it was obvious that Kimberly wanted to say something to him.
Lowe took off his headphones, closed his laptop, and turned to face her completely. “Is there something you need to tell me?” he asked, looking at her with gentle eyes.
“Yes,” Kimberly admitted, after a moment’s hesitation.
She slid off her sunglasses and set them aside, her eyes firmly fixed on Lowe. “I want to know what you’re planning.”
A flicker of understanding passed through Lowe’s eyes. “Don’t worry,” he said, his tone even and composed. “The wedding will proceed as planned. I’ll help you meet the person you want to see.”
Upon hearing this, Kimberly fell silent. She said nothing more, a hint of guilt flashing in her eyes.
After a long pause, she pressed her lips together and said, “Thank you.”
This gratitude was something Lowe truly deserved.
Lowe had no obligation to help Kimberly. Despite knowing her intentions, Lowe set aside his own needs to assist her. Kimberly would never forget this moment of kindness, and if the opportunity arose, she would make sure to repay Lowe.
Lowe’s eyes brimmed with unspoken emotions. After a long silence, he asked in a deep voice, “Have you considered what you’d do if the person you want to see doesn’t show up? Will you just keep waiting? What if they don’t come, even to your wedding? How will you lure them out?”
Kimberly was at a loss for words. This possibility had never really crossed her mind. She regarded Lowe with an indecipherable expression. “What exactly are you trying to say?”
Lowe held her gaze, his expression unwavering. “What I’m trying to say, Kimberly, is that I’ll always wait for you. If they don’t show up, you can always turn to me. I’ll be right here.”
Kimberly remained quiet, uncertain of how to respond to his words. Just as the atmosphere threatened to turn suffocating, a notification sound cut through the silence.

Kimberly lifted a questioning brow. She fished her phone out of her pocket, her eyes narrowing as she opened a message from an unknown number.
“Hello, Ms. Holden. I’m Eulalia. Levi is currently with me. If you want to save him, bring Chris with you to Sunset Cliff.” Attached to the message was a single picture.
Kimberly quickly tapped on the image to open it. The picture showed Levi, bound to a wheelchair, positioned dangerously close to the edge of a towering cliff. The massive sun loomed behind him, setting the sky ablaze with fiery hues of dusk—deep reds and golds stretching across the horizon. Sunset Cliff. A place famous for its breathtaking views. But in that moment, there was nothing beautiful about it.
Kimberly’s gaze darkened at the sight of the photo, her grip on the phone tightening. She quickly typed a response.
“I don’t know where Chris is.” She hit send and waited.
