Chapter 1877:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Far across the sea, a huge firework bloomed in the night sky, scattering into streams of golden starlight that illuminated the ocean as brightly as day.
“Chris,” Maia murmured as she looked at the falling sparks. After a moment, she asked again, her voice still soft, “Is there anything else you are hiding from me?”
“No.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Maia turned and lightly pressed a finger against his chest. “You had better be telling the truth. You know exactly where my limits are. If you dare lie to me again, you will be finished!”

A low chuckle escaped Chris.
He held the hand she had pressed to his chest and lowered his head to kiss it gently.
“I promise.”
The sea breeze drifted around them, and the stars shone clear and bright.
All the nights of standing alone with courage, all the long paths once walked in solitude, finally reached a complete and peaceful ending on this winter night.
From that moment onward, year after year, they remained by each other’s side forever.
Tonight, the rainy season by the sea was as temperamental as ever, with sudden downpours arriving without the slightest warning.
An unexpected storm swept across the coast, abruptly ruining Chris and Maia’s honeymoon plans and leaving the two of them secluded inside the seaside villa.
The steady sound of water flowing from the bathroom faded into silence.
Maia pushed open the glass door and lazily slipped into a black silk robe, draping it elegantly around her body.
The living room glowed beneath soft amber lighting, warm and intimate.
Chris had already changed into a pale gray set of loungewear and stood casually against the kitchen island. In his hands rested a plate of freshly prepared seafood pasta, which he gently placed onto the counter.
The moment he heard her approaching footsteps, Chris lifted his gaze toward her.
“Come here and eat something first,” he murmured, his voice deeper than usual as his eyes lingered meaningfully on her.
Maia continued drying her damp hair with a towel, making no move to step closer.
“Be good and have a few bites.” Chris let out a quiet sigh, a trace of warning woven into his tone. “Otherwise, tomorrow you may not even have the strength to leave the bed.”
Maia’s hand stilled halfway through drying her hair.
Yet rather than feeling threatened, she gave a soft, amused laugh. Carelessly tossing the towel onto the sofa nearby, she crossed the carpet barefoot and slowly approached him.
When she finally stopped, barely a foot separated them.
Resting both hands against the cool marble countertop, Maia tilted her head ever so slightly, her eyes roaming over him with playful scrutiny.
“Mr. Cooper,” Maia teased, her crimson lips curving into a captivating smile. “Our honeymoon has only just started. As for who ends up unable to leave the bed, that remains to be seen.”
Chris gazed at her quietly, a faintly resigned smile softening the sharpness of his handsome features.
The very next second, he wrapped a firm arm around her waist and effortlessly lifted her onto the kitchen island. The steaming plate of seafood pasta was casually shoved aside.
