Chapter 576:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Grandpa may be the chairman, but the board of directors still exists.” Andrew’s eyes gleamed with malice. “If those old men find out Marcelo is a lunatic who killed his own brother, they’ll definitely oppose him becoming the president of King Group.”
No one in their right mind would accept that. And if the board and shareholders united against Marcelo, even KM Group could be dragged into the fallout.
Gary’s face brightened instantly. He let out a short, sharp laugh. “Yes! I can’t believe I forgot about that!”
Meanwhile, Renee didn’t ask much about the King family’s affairs. She focused on her teaching and tried to keep her days peaceful.
Two days later, she found herself counting on her fingers. “Mr. King, you haven’t gone to work for four days.”
Marcelo’s gaze lifted from his laptop to her face. He didn’t say a word, but his expression clearly conveyed, “I’m the boss. I can skip work whenever I want.”
“Mr. King,” Renee sighed, helpless. “If you show up anywhere near my classroom again, you’re going to cause a stampede on campus. Seriously. If you come one more time, the headmaster is definitely going to call me in and lecture me.”

Somehow, the students in the School of Economics and Management had found out that the president of KM Group was escorting Renee to class every single day. During lecture hours, crowds gathered outside the department building, disrupting classes.
Students from other colleges even assumed a celebrity had come to visit and joined the commotion, along with bored students who had nothing better to do. The hallways were constantly clogged with people who didn’t belong there.
Marcelo motioned to Renee with a simple wave of his hand.
She gave him a suspicious look, hesitated for a few seconds, and then walked over. She was still a couple of steps away when he suddenly reached out and yanked her into his arms.
Renee gasped, caught off guard, and immediately ended up on his lap. Marcelo tightened his hold around her.
“Do you not like me, Renee?” His face was blank when he asked, but there was a faint threat in his tone.
“In what world would that even be possible?” Renee forced a smile and patted his cheek. “I just want you to work hard and earn even more money.”
She did like him—of course she did—but his recent antics were starting to irritate her. Having him by her side made her happy, yet it was affecting her work, and not in a good way.
Even her most diligent students, who used to ask about the lectures during the ten-minute breaks between classes, had started asking her about pointless gossip—mostly involving her relationship with the esteemed Mr. King.
Marcelo cupped the back of her neck and traced his thumb lightly along her throat. “I’m flying to Angland tomorrow.”
“So suddenly?” Renee straightened, her eyes widening. “Is it a business trip?”
“Didn’t you say you wanted me to work hard?” He chuckled and placed his other hand on her lower abdomen. “Don’t worry. I’ll make a lot of money, so we can buy all the milk formula our baby would ever need.”
Renee slapped his hand away and huffed. “Where do you think you’re touching? I’m not pregnant!”
Before she could scoot back, Marcelo hooked one arm around her waist and lifted her thigh with the other.
In the blink of an eye, she was straddling him, her lower back braced against the desk. She could feel the hard pressure of him against her, making her breath catch.
“Then should I work on getting you pregnant?” he asked.
His tone sounded playful, but Renee had the vague sense he was watching her closely, gauging her reaction.
She blinked at him. “You want a baby?”
Marcelo raised his eyebrows.
