Chapter 1856:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Okay. But if you still haven’t figured it out by next Friday, I’m going to measure it myself,” Nina said, sitting on the sofa and still debating internally whether she should just take matters into her own hands.
“Alright,” Kristian replied.
After ending the call, Nina sat motionless on the sofa, lost in thought.
Jesse had just finished his work when he noticed her troubled expression. “What’s going on?”
“I asked Uncle Kristian to help figure out Damian’s ring size, but he hasn’t found a chance yet,” Nina said, completely at ease around Jesse and hiding nothing. “I’m starting to think I should just go do it myself.”
“What did he say?” Jesse asked.
“He said he’d get it done by next Friday,” Nina answered.
Next Friday. Jesse paused inwardly. Wasn’t that the day Damian planned to propose to Nina?

“I don’t know whether to wait or just handle it myself,” Nina admitted, clearly torn.
“Kristian’s always been reliable,” Jesse said, knowing full well about Damian’s plan and wanting to protect it. “If he said he’d have it by next Friday, he’s confident he can deliver.”
“You really think so?”
“Yeah.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“But I really want to propose to Damian as soon as possible,” Nina said, her feelings plain in her voice. Her entire proposal plan — crafted with her mother’s help and input from friends — was already in place. All she needed now was the ring and a few finishing touches still being prepared.
“There’s still time,” Jesse said, steady and calm. “If you’re that anxious about it, I’ll step in and help once you have the ring size.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.”
“Alright,” Nina said, letting the reassurance settle over her.
With his backing, her nerves eased a little — though she still checked in on Kristian’s progress every single day.
Before she knew it, a few more days had passed.
When Friday arrived with no update, Nina grew restless and brought it up with Nick and Kyra.
After hearing her out, the two exchanged a meaningful look.
“Why that look?” Nina asked, baffled.
“You don’t have to be the one to propose,” Nick said casually, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world. “If you can’t get the ring size, just let him propose to you.”
Kyra nodded in agreement. “Exactly.”
Nina dropped her head onto the table with a long, slow sigh and said nothing.
Nina dreamed of Damian slipping a ring on her finger — a quiet wish she carried close to her heart.
But Damian had never hinted at proposing. He had never even asked about her ring size.
She brushed the worry aside, knowing he loved her in his own way. Everyone expresses love differently, and she didn’t hold it against him. Instead, she decided to take the leap herself — to show him her heart was fully committed.
“What’s on your mind?” Kyra asked, her voice soft with concern.
Nina sighed and propped her chin on her hand. “I’m stuck,” she admitted. Lately, she had been fixated on finding a way to learn Damian’s ring size.
Kyra tilted her head. “Is this about what we were just talking about?”
Nina nodded. “Yeah, exactly.”
