Chapter 1363:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The king’s frown only deepened.
“The werewolves and the wizards are fire and water—forever at odds. That truth cannot change. Those three must die!”
“Hatred only feeds more bloodshed,” I said gently, my tone softening. “How many lives were lost in that war already? How much pain could have been spared?”
“Enough!” he bellowed, surging to his feet. The room shook with the force of his voice, but before he could say another word, a harsh cough seized him. He doubled over, face flushing a violent red.
“You—woman—what do you know?”
The servant rushed forward to steady him, but the king shoved him aside with a trembling arm.
Just then, a soft knock echoed at the door.
“Your Majesty…” An elderly servant entered with a bowed head. “Prince Colt is in the living room. He brings urgent news.”
“I understand,” the king muttered hoarsely.
He paused at the threshold, turning to glance at me one final time. His eyes blazed with fury—and something far colder: disappointment.
“Makenna,” he rasped, “you’ll live to regret this.”
When the door slammed behind him, I collapsed to my knees, all strength draining from my limbs, the weight of it all finally crashing down.
Colt’s POV:
I dropped to one knee on the deep red carpet, a cold sweat breaking out on my brow.
My father’s room reeked of scented incense—stifling and sweet—blending with the foul stench of his rotting flesh. A wave of sickness twisted inside me.

“Father, please listen and believe me,” I said quietly. “Jett isn’t just working with the werewolves. Right now, those three princes are hiding out in his villa!”
My father’s bony fingers dug into the armrest, veins popping like worms under his pale skin. His cloudy eyes fixed on me sharply.
“You have the nerve to mention this? How could you take Makenna without asking me first?”
I jerked my head up.
“That woman is the Saint of the White Wolf Clan. And her mate could easily be one of those werewolf princes! Father, she’s sticking close to Jett, hiding inside the Wizard Clan on purpose—she’s scheming against us! Everything I’ve done has been for the good of the Wizard Clan!”
“Enough!”
My father suddenly hurled a crystal goblet straight at me. The glass shattered at my feet, freezing liquid splashing onto my shoes.
He said coldly,
“Is this about protecting the Wizard Clan… or just your grudge against Jett? Don’t think I can’t see through your game. And if you touch Makenna again, I’ll cut you off from your inheritance!”
A sharp sting spread through my palms—I hadn’t even noticed my nails digging hard into my skin.
“Father! Think about it—three werewolf princes are hiding inside the royal city. If they join forces…” I swallowed my anger and crawled forward on my knees. “I’m sure Jett’s plotting with them! He’s planning to take the Wizard Clan’s throne!”
