Chapter 1235:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Orlando couldn’t help but feel like he’d hit the jackpot by bringing Maren onto his team.
At first, he saw Maren as nothing more than a powerful weapon for the gang.
After today, though, he realized just how remarkable she truly was.
Maren’s abilities far surpassed what he’d expected.
When they made it back to the Dark Hills, Orlando was practically bursting to tell his father all about her.
A satisfied grin touched Maren’s lips as she watched Orlando hurry off. Things were falling into place even faster than she’d hoped. If her plans kept moving along like this, Delley’s underworld would soon be within her grasp.
As darkness spread over the Dark Hills, Maren slipped away into the night, ready to set her next move in motion.
Meanwhile, chaos erupted at the Axe Gang.

“Jovanni, do you realize how much you’ve cost us? You’ve caused us to lose so many territories, yet you still have the nerve to come back, instead of dying in the ring like the others?”
The boss, who had ruled for decades, found his temper boiling over like never before.
This defeat was a disaster for the Axe Gang.
“You crossed the line this time, Jovanni,” one of the senior members snapped. “It’s bad enough you lost, but you also upped the stakes without getting approval!”
Another voice chimed in, “We practically handed the Dark Hills a huge chunk of our territory. They’re gaining strength while we’re shrinking. It’s only a matter of time before they completely overshadow us. What’s our plan to keep them in check?”
Grumbling and frustration simmered throughout the room. The Axe Gang’s top ranks were all fed up with Jovanni’s recklessness.
There had always been a balance of power between the Dark Hills and the Axe Gang, neither side able to dominate the other. Now, the Dark Hills had the upper hand, and everyone knew it.
Before long, members of the Axe Gang would find themselves dodging the Dark Hills’ crew and doing their best not to draw any attention.
No one wanted to accept that reality.
Jovanni finally spoke up, remorse heavy in his voice. “I know I messed up. Everything that happened was my fault. I really thought I could win big for the Axe Gang, and if I had, things would look a lot different right now.”
With accusations flying from all sides, Jovanni was left scrambling to defend himself.
But his words fell on deaf ears as no one in the room seemed inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.
The ones who already disliked Jovanni were especially eager to see him fall.
“Now it makes sense why you insisted on taking charge. You handed the Dark Hills so many territories. Are you a spy sent by them?” a longtime rival of Jovanni sneered.
