Chapter 1687:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Coulson froze, his guard slipping. No… they never did.
The realization hit like a blade, and in that split second, Austin’s fist connected, sending Coulson sprawling to the floor.
Coulson struggled to his knees, his eyes burning with resentment.
“You are lying,” he hissed. “That old woman would never have helped me!” His pride choked him, refusing to let the truth sink in.
John surged forward, his fist crashing into Coulson’s jaw, sending him down again.
As they moved to restrain him, Coulson slithered free, his movements quick and serpentine.
John’s voice dripped with scorn. “Look at that! The mighty boss of Nexogenix, crawling away like a gutless turtle.”
Coulson’s eyes flashed with fury. “Kill them all!” he roared.
But the chip-implanted men stood motionless.
Coulson’s jaw dropped—his own army had been overridden.
Austin’s reinforcements, a formidable crew of fighters, emerged from the shadows, their presence dwarfing Coulson’s forces. Confusion twisted Coulson’s face. “How…?”
A voice broke the silence, calm and cutting. “It has been a while, has it not?” Damon stepped forward, his silhouette sharp against the dim light.
Coulson’s gaze narrowed to a razor’s edge.
“You,” he snarled. “You helped them. Why would you betray me?”
Damon’s stare was cold, unyielding, his silence louder than any reply.
Damon fixed a cold glare on Coulson. “None of what I did was ever really for you.”
The flicker in Coulson’s eyes grew stronger. His voice rang out, “That’s enough! Don’t say another word!”
Thoughts spun through his mind. Damon would probably admit he only helped him because of Malayah, or maybe it was for someone else—not for him anyway.

A wave of loneliness suddenly swept over Coulson, making him feel abandoned by everyone.
“Let go of Coulson! You hear me? Release him!”
A sudden commotion broke out as Alina rushed forward, her clothing a mirror image of Yelena’s usual style.
Standing next to Yelena, Alina could have passed for her twin. No one could spot a difference at first glance.
Without warning, Alina sprang at Damon. “How could you turn your back on us? Why would you do this to Coulson?”
A reply came from Damon. “I never belonged to your group. It was always our master and Yelena who asked me to look out for him. After what Coulson did, did you really think I’d still help him?”
Even though Coulson already suspected this, the truth still felt like a slap. Alina put up a fierce fight, yet even her strength couldn’t withstand such heavy odds. The group eventually subdued her.
By the time the group reached the bottom of the mountain, Maggie and her companions were already assembled there.
