Chapter 1198:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Blood stained her dress a deep crimson, her long hair clinging to her tear-dampened face. Landen stood frozen behind her, cradling Angelica like a lifeless doll.
“I… I’m Egret,” Kaelyn whispered, her eyes sparking with newfound clarity.
On the dark web’s livestream, comments surged wildly, the gruesome scene holding every viewer captive.
“Look at that — the Barnett family’s finished now!” one comment jeered.
“Is she crazy? Getting all emotional while people are bleeding out!” another mocked.
“Wait a second… did she say she’s Egret?” someone gasped.
Dewitt’s eyes were red with worry as he stepped forward, reaching for Rodger in Kaelyn’s arms. “Please, ma’am — the ambulance is waiting outside. We can’t waste another second —”
“Don’t you dare touch him!”
Kaelyn’s voice was sharp, her tear-filled eyes fierce as blades. She rose slowly, her blood-soaked gown trailing a vivid red streak across the floor. Everyone watched, stunned, as she pulled a worn silver needle pouch from her pocket.
With a soft rustle, the silk pouch opened, revealing nine needles that gleamed coldly in the light. Seven were silver. Two stood apart — one red, one black — their tips carved with delicate egret designs.
“No ambulance can save him now,” Kaelyn said, her voice steady as ice. She gently touched Rodger’s pale lips. “The bullet nicked his abdominal aorta. Moving him would only steal his last breath.”
With a sudden tug, she ripped the pearl necklace from her dress. The pearls scattered with a sharp clatter, revealing tiny medicine capsules hidden inside.
The dark web chat erupted.
“What in the world is that?” one viewer typed.

“It’s her — the legendary healer Egret!” another declared.
Dewitt stood frozen. He knew Kaelyn was Egret, the healer said to pull souls back from death’s grip. But hadn’t she lost all memory of it?
“Hold his arms and legs,” Kaelyn ordered, kneeling beside Rodger. The red and black needles danced between her fingers. “This might sting.”
As the first needle pierced Rodger’s skin, his unconscious body jolted. The black needle struck a vital point on his neck, its tip humming faintly as it quivered.
Kaelyn’s hands moved like lightning. The red needle’s tip traced Rodger’s abdominal wound with delicate precision, coaxing the trapped blood to flow as though alive with purpose. The black needle slid beneath his skin with an almost magical grace, sealing broken vessels in a delicate, intricate dance.
From the shadows, a voice shouted, “Miss Mendez still has a pulse!”
Kaelyn didn’t look up. “Bring her to me.”
Under astonished gazes, she treated both patients at once — her left hand guiding the black needle to mend Rodger’s pulse, her right wielding the red to shield Angelica’s heart. Blood dripped from her wrists, blending into a shared pool on the floor.
The fabled Ice and Fire Dual Needles.
“Ma’am, your hand…” Dewitt gasped, noticing Kaelyn’s fingertips turning black — a dangerous sign of strain from the needles’ power.
Kaelyn seemed not to care. She bit her tongue and let her blood trickle into Rodger’s mouth. “With blood to guide the way,” she chanted softly, her voice like an ancient song. The red needle glowed brightly, and Rodger’s faint pulse grew stronger. Even more miraculous, Angelica’s chest wound began to close, the blood slowly drawing back into her body.
The dark web stream went wild.
“Is this healing or some kind of magic?” one comment read.
