Chapter 1178:

The remaining interviews proceeded without any problems, and by the end, three new employees had been selected.
Feeling slightly exhausted, Gracie leaned back in her chair and looked through the blinds at the employees bustling around outside. A small smile gradually appeared on her face.
If life could always stay this peaceful, it would be perfect.
She rose to her feet and turned toward the assistant beside her. “There hasn’t been much happening at the company lately, so I probably won’t come in often for the time being. Still, I should have someone assigned to stay in contact with me.”
“What do you think about Zane? If you approve, he could start out as your assistant.”

“That works,” Gracie answered with a nod before turning to leave.
By then, Zane had already been shown to the interns’ work area and was cheerfully introducing himself to the people nearby.
Standing a short distance away, Gracie watched the scene with a faint smile.
Youth really was full of energy.
But just as she walked away, Zane lifted his eyes toward her retreating figure, a subtle smile briefly surfacing in his eyes.
“Ms. Sullivan, the company file requiring your review has been uploaded.”
“Your medical report has been delivered to your inbox.”
“Mr. Holt’s assistant arrived at the office; he’s looking to discuss the previous amusement park project with you.”
Ever since Zane stepped into his role as Gracie’s assistant, her phone had become a steady source of notifications.
Gracie glanced at the latest message, her brow furrowing. She hadn’t expected Eaton to be the one reaching out proactively.
She dialed Zane immediately. “Get in touch with Mr. Holt. Arrange a face-to-face meeting.”
After ending the call, Gracie entered the hospital room carrying a thermos of soup.
Seeing Brayden already immersed in work, she frowned. “You just woke up. Why are you working already? We agreed you would focus on your recovery.”
Brayden set his materials aside. “I can’t leave everything to you. The company backlog is growing, and I want to help lighten the load.”
Gracie sat by the edge of the bed. “Don’t worry about the business for now. Just have some soup.”
As she opened the thermos, a rich, savory aroma filled the room.
“I have to go out tonight, so I won’t be here for dinner,” she noted. “Will you be alright on your own?”
“Of course. But what’s the occasion? You should take Charlie with you.”
“That won’t be necessary. Conroy is meeting me there, so it’ll be fine,” Gracie replied.
She stayed by his side for a while longer before eventually heading out.
On her way to the Holt Group, she called Conroy and asked him to join her.
An hour later, they reached the headquarters, where Zane was already waiting at the entrance.
“What are you doing here? I didn’t ask you to come,” Gracie said.
“I thought it would be a good chance to observe how things are handled here and pick up some pointers,” Zane explained.
Gracie nodded, leading the two men into the building.
